“Well obviously there are also women with low standards who will bang anything with money, despite looking like (or being) David Letterman.”

Ah, but you see, money is their standard. All things being equal, more physically attractive men will be favored over the less attractive, obviously. But everything is not equal, and various things: power, wealth, social graces, count more for men than for women, if I have it right.

“it is an issue of character and what some will lower themselves to do for their own gratification.”

When men say “I’d hit that,” they don’t mean that they will go out of their way to do it. They mean that if the opportunity came up, and adverse consequences aren’t part of the calculation, they wouldn’t turn it down. This isn’t really a character thing, as ethics don’t enter into the question. One does not consider possible countervailing issues, such as her willingness, the risk of public censure, the risk of pregnancy, whether STDs are involved, or whether one or both of you are married. It’s not about that.

In short, the “Would you hit it?” question is beyond good and evil, if you will.

Haha - justify it all you want - I’d hit it means you would do it if given the chance - married or not, values or not, disease or not, lol - you’d do it - Ok, maybe you don’t see it that way but I think others do ...damn the consequences they would do anything to have a chance at it. ;^)
