My grandson had the smallest Swiss Army Knife they make, used it to clean his nails or something, and forgot he had it in his pocket. Someone saw it outlined in his hip pocket, and told a teacher.

He was sentenced, in court, to "alternative education". This consists of sitting in a room full of juvenile trouble makers all day, for over a month, I don't recall exactly. It will stay on his record until he is 18, they say, but I wonder if these things ever disappear from the records.

Gerry is a great kid, they had no business dragging him through this crap.

Could it be that some kids are not politically correct?

It never goes away. The recipient may never hear about it again and if he investigates may find that there is “nothing there” but it will figure in future job applications and in who the police “suspect” and in government applications.
