Lawrence Solomon: The end is near ( global warming scare is all over but the shouting )

The media, polls and even scientists suggest the global warming scare is all over but the shouting

The great global warming scare is over — it is well past its peak, very much a spent force, sputtering in fits and starts to a whimpering end. You may not know this yet. Or rather, you may know it but don’t want to acknowledge it until every one else does, and that won’t happen until the press, much of which also knows it, formally acknowledges it.

I know that the global warming scare is over but for the shouting because that’s what the polls show, at least those in the U.S., where unlike Canada the public is polled extensively on global warming. Most Americans don’t blame humans for climate change — they consider global warming to be a natural phenomenon. Even when the polls showed the public believed man was responsible for global warming, the public didn’t take the scare seriously. When asked to rank global warming’s importance compared to numerous other concerns — unemployment, trade, health care, poverty, crime, and education among them — global warming came in dead last. Fewer than 1% chose global warming as scare-worthy.

The informed members of the media read those polls and know the global warming scare is over, too. Andrew Revkin, The New York Times reporter entrusted with the global warming scare beat, has for months lamented “the public’s waning interest in global warming.” His colleague at The Washington Post, Andrew Freedman, does his best to revive public fear, and to get politicians to act, by urging experts to up their hype .......

New socialist slogan: Pass Cap and Tax to fight Global Cooling!!!!

Actually not that far from reality. Have you noticed that the phrase "Global Warming" has quietly been replaced with "Global Climate Change"?

Just posted this...going back into some History...from 2008 :

The BBC, the UN, and climate bullying ( Grab an umbrella: it's global wetting, now...)

***************************************EXCERPT INTRO**********************************

The Register ^ | 15th April 2008 10:15 GMT | Andrew Orlowski

Andrew's Mailbag It's been a fascinating week for climate reporting and the BBC. On Tuesday, an astonished Jeremy Paxman was heard asking Global Warming advocate Chris Rapley on Newsnight to confirm that the Earth's temperature hasn't risen this century.

(No, Rapley agreed, it hasn't. But clearly, from the amazed look on his face, nobody had ever thought to fill Paxo in on this minor detail - until now).

Last week we described the hurried amendments made to a BBC News Online story about global warming, and this ran round the internet like a contagion, prompting widespread commentary on US TV - and universal ridicule for the corporation.

The Beeb's Roger Harrabin had noted remarks made by the chief of the UN weather quango, concluding that "...this would mean global temperatures have not risen since 1998, prompting some to question climate change theory".

Big mistake, Roger.

Harrabin initially stood by his words, but shortly after an eco-warrior made a threat to humiliate him before the Court of The Hive Mind ("I am about to send your comments to others for their contribution, unless you request I do not. They are likely to want to post your comments on forums/fora, so please indicate if you do not want this to happen. You may appear in an unfavourable light") the story was severely edited.

We've a couple of updates for you.

Global Warming 'Science'

******************************EXCERPT INTRO**********************************

The American Thinker ^ | September 27, 2009 | John McLaughlin

Posted on Sun 27 Sep 2009 04:45:35 AM PDT by Scanian

It was a startling admission. Prior to passage of "Cap-and-Trade" legislation by the House of Representatives, Mr. Henry Waxman (D, CA), House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman and co-sponsor of the bill, in responding to a question from Mr. Joe Barton (R, TX) at a May 22 hearing, admitted the following:

"I certainly don't claim that I know everything that's in this bill. I know we left it to ....we relied very heavily on the scientists on the IPCC and others and the consensus they have that there is a problem with global warming, it's having an impact, and that we need to reduce it by the amounts they think we need to achieve in order to avoid some of the consequences. That's what I know, but I don't know the details. I rely on the scientists."

****************************************************

And those Scientists are carefully selected.........

Well...I’ve always watched Fox News and Special Report and I check Drudge Report a bunch of times a day. Then I browse threads here. Now I often watch Glen Beck too.

We have only seen the tip of the iceburg (pun intended, heheh) regarding a building momentum from the global warming critics side.
Growing numbers of people including some in Congress are now connected to web sites such as icecap.us. As well as more people from the world of science and engineering speaking out on all the short falls of some of the measuring techniques, verifiable false modeling , etc..
And as each country within it's perspective hemisphere during the fall, winter, spring periods continue to experience a steady decline in temperature, increased cold rain, ice, and snow falls over the next ten years or so, the populations are going to look at Al Gore and the few remaining circus managers as a bunch of liers and idiots.
The trick is to get zero's crowd so scared of a royal screw up they will not push for any cap and trade tax, thereby taking some steam out of the hold out idiots in the congress. Meanwhile more in congress will be forced to start to actually delve into the issues with the fear they could be booted out of office, for gross ignorance.
It looks like some of the environmentalist groups may be held to the ropes on this deal.

And yet Cap and Trade will be passed , just like health care just like amnesty. The Dems will do as they please, the GOP has no balls and we , the people sit on blogs and think that will change something. little by little I’m getting tired of blogs , even FR . I see nothing concrete being done.Time for talk is over folks.

Only if We the People let them get away with it...
We will. If we had any balls we’d have 4 million people in DC tonight with bats telling the Senate to do the righ tthing on health care or else.
