The map is for influenza, I didn’t see any differation between reg flu and swine flu.

Question for the professionals out there: If you had breast cancer, with surgery and chemo coming up, would you get either of the flu shots? Inquiring minds want to know!

key observation - this map IS for influenza. it does not break out H1N1A SOI (AKA SWINE FLU).

This is only a measure of spread/ virulence AS REPORTED. It does NOT give you any indication of mortality, or relative mortality or mortality by demo/ phenotype, nor does it offer trends or mortality trends.

in other words ... it is not very useful by itself.

BTW, regarding your questions to professionals: google “CDC guidance to clinicians H1N1 flu” and scroll down a bit on that page for guidance to clinicians for specific patient populations— such oncology, OB etc.

I had my flu shots last year prior to surgery and chemo. I am still in chemo and just got regular flu and will get H1N1 when it is available. You don’t want flumist or any live vaccines but dead ones are okay. I have a friend in chemo who has had terrible flu,,fevers, etc for over three weeks, it was swine and it has delayed her chemo.
