I pretty much agree, though I think a middle ground of putting the uninsured on payment plans and seizing their bank accounts, wages, cars, homes and personal property, quickly, if they don’t pay, would be a more merciful way of accomplishing the same goal.

I don’t want people to die because they don’t get insurance, but they should suffer the financial consequences.

I do not have insurance. I pay $60.00 for an office visit, cash for medication and tests. Yes, I have even paid for bone xrays at an emergency room. I do not spend as much for health care per year as I did when I paid for an insurance premium bimonthly out of my paycheck. Yes, I am shopping for a private HSA with a catastrophic plan before the year end for tax reasons. This health care nonsense is seriously worrying me. I do not want anything close to a government plan.

I concur with your statements...I do not want the lack of health insurance to be a death sentence either.
