Women ‘Soon’ Will Service on Submarines, Flowerplough Says.

Me brudder, on a LST and a destroyer tender in the 80s, saw his ship/shore rotation go from 3 years/3 years to 5 years/1 year because the Navy’s machine shop women at sea often got pregnant as quickly as possible to get mandated a shore berth.

I know of women on the tender that would do the same thing to avoid getting underway for a two week OPPE.

I served on the USS McKee, a sub tender. One day, the captain came on the ship’s TV and announced the possibility of a WestPac cruise (6 month deployment). Two weeks later, I overheard the Chief corpsman loudly complaining about “the 13th pregnant female crewmember this week!”

I had friends that were a “couple” onboard, they found plenty of space and time to shag like mad on that ship.
