What is a degree in government, and how does that qualify someone to work in a financial firm? Sounds like a useful degree, like ancient latin or surfing.

Six out of every ten words in English come somehow from Latin, and most of today's tongues have at least some words from Latin.

That may be too generous, but to say learning Latin helped my English vocabulary is an understatement. It's the root of almost innumerable scientific terms.

Nothing against Latin as a language, but what can you do with a degree in Latin? And more to the point, what is a degree in government? Is it a dumb version of political science?
