Excellent point! Read a book review of a memoir of one of JFK’s speechwriters/ghostwriters - Theodore Sorensen I think it was. Again, IIRC, he came up with the “Ask not blah blah blah”. In any case it was pretty clear that Sorensen was still bitter about not getting the credit he thought he deserved. I might have some of these details wrong, but that was the gist.

There seems to be a difference between ghost writers / speech writers and people like Ayers who have really shouldered this guy. I guess it would be like one of my professors taking care of my college, career, books, wrote out my plan for the white house, set me up with everything, do everything and then I tell the world he was scum and I hated everything he stood for.
