Bill Ayers: “I wrote Dreams From My Father”

There I was, sitting in Reagan National Monday morning, sipping a Starbucks by the United counter before going through security. I had a little time, so I was browsing through the news. That's when I saw Bill Ayers, an instant blight. Scruffy, thinning beard, dippy earring, and the wirerims, heading to order. I gathered my things, got my camera ready, and snapped a shot right when he got his coffee.

He gave me an uneasy cheesy smile when he realized I was taking his picture.

I asked--what are you doing in D.C. Mr. Ayers?

[He said] he was giving a lecture in Arlington to a Renaissance group on education--that's what I do, education--you shouldn't believe everything you hear about me, you know nothing about me.

Then, unprompted he said--I wrote Dreams From My Father. I said, oh, so you admit it. He said--Michelle asked me to. I looked at him. He seemed eager. He's about my height, short. He went on to say--and if you can prove it, we can split the royalties. So I said, stop pulling my leg. Horrible thought. But he came again--I really wrote it, the wording was similar. I said I believe you probably heavily edited it. He said--I wrote it.

Bill Ayers was of course just a guy from the neighborhood that Obama claimed to barely know.

yes, and with very tight security since he was the acting CIA Chief. Woodward supposedly entered the hospital, sneaked up the stairwell, got past security and found Casey wide awake and very talkative, wanting to get all the dirt off his chest about the Reagan administration.

Can you imagine the LEO taking a bomb warning from Bill Ayers? That would make for a real nice headline. If I was arrested I would just deny it and ask whether you should believe a guy with no record or one with one with regards to bombs. Would make real good reality TV type story."

There were LOTS of checks to Ayers with Obama's signature on them.

Obama was brought in by William Ayers in the late 1990's as CEO of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, and Obama wrote lots of checks at the instruction of his operating officer, none other than Bill Ayers himself. Their address was on South Sangamon Street, just south of Monroe. Many of those checks went to Ayers' own "Small Schools Project" and other of Ayers radical educational experiments.

Someday, when the glow begins to wear off the Messisah, some left-leaning (and therefore respected by the MSM) reporter will become the next Woodward and Bernstein by following up on this.

When Chris Matthews was covering Palin's new book last week, I was at first shocked when he put to his panel: "Isn't it terrible that these politicians all have to use ghostwriters? Can you think of even one politician who hasn't used a ghostwriter?" What was the panel's response?

Dead silence.

Matthews then plowed onto the next topic. Was it a careless (mindless) oversight on the part of Matthews and his panel to fail to mention Obama's authorship of "Dreams"? Or was Matthews initiating a quiet campaign to inoculate the Obama voters from distress by emphasizing "everybody is doing it" so who cares if a unrepentant communist terrorist wrote Dreams for Obama?

Re your quote from Matthews:

“The question is who actually will write the Palin book. The only politician I know who can write is Barack Obama.”

I think this quote was from several months ago when the book was announced and before the Anderson book came out. Last week Matthews and his panel couldn't seem to remember any politician who has written their own book.

Ayers admits writing Dreams

Was he, as she had asked, pulling our collective legs? Other sources report rumors that Ayers is very upset both about not getting any credit for helping Obama on ‘Dreams,’ and may also be put off by being summarily thrown under the bus along with Rev. Wright and everyone else who becomes an inconvenience to this President.

My understanding of communists is that most would know better and keep their mouths shut. But Ayers is a bit different. He is, as he says, a “small ‘c’ communist,” but he is also, in a certain, slimy way, an entrepreneur, as we explained in Monday’s post. (Apologies in advance to entrepreneurs everywhere.) He grew up a very rich kid, used to getting everything he wanted. Even as an adult his career has relied on a hand up from his wealthy father. His past statements and radical activities also mark him as a megalomaniac. In youth he drew attention to himself by blowing things up. As an adult “educator” he merely attempts to subvert children. But that doesn’t seem to be going so well.

Now, a recent exposé by San Francisco reporter Peter Jamison has revealed additional evidence, including testimony from other Weather Underground members, that Dohrn planted the bomb that killed Sgt. McDonnell.

Maybe in his overstressed state Bill’s megalomania has just gotten the better of him.
