There I was, sitting in Reagan National Monday morning, sipping a Starbucks by the United counter before going through security. I had a little time, so I was browsing through the news. That's when I saw Bill Ayers, an instant blight. Scruffy, thinning beard, dippy earring, and the wirerims, heading to order. I gathered my things, got my camera ready, and snapped a shot right when he got his coffee.
He gave me an uneasy cheesy smile when he realized I was taking his picture.
I asked--what are you doing in D.C. Mr. Ayers?
[He said] he was giving a lecture in Arlington to a Renaissance group on education--that's what I do, education--you shouldn't believe everything you hear about me, you know nothing about me.
Then, unprompted he said--I wrote Dreams From My Father. I said, oh, so you admit it. He said--Michelle asked me to. I looked at him. He seemed eager. He's about my height, short. He went on to say--and if you can prove it, we can split the royalties. So I said, stop pulling my leg. Horrible thought. But he came again--I really wrote it, the wording was similar. I said I believe you probably heavily edited it. He said--I wrote it.

If that’s the case he just came clean in public. There’s a witness to his confession, who made it public.
Wonder if any of the Wingnuts here that were attacking Dr. Cashill for his Patriotic Findings of Obama’s Fraudulent Literary Assertions will be big nough to now offer their APOLOGIES to Dr. Cashill for their obnoxious comments and allegations?

But lifelong seekers of fame and recognition never have enough. Look at how Newt Gingrich keeps re-inventing himself to get in the headlines! Now he’s running around with Al Sharpton.
No, I think that Ayers has always wanted fame & recognition. Obviously he didn’t have the smarts and the perserverence to make it in the business world like his dad, so he chose another path.
That's a good point, except if that were the case then he blew it by not telling her to keep quiet about their chance meeting. I mean, the only way she could prove it would be to use his own words. IE, this is what Ayers told me. He told me he wrote the book. How else would she prove it beyond what is already out there (the comparisons between Ayers' writing style and that of Dreams, plus the new book out about the Obamas)?
But..but.. Bill Ayers was just a guy in the neighborhood! Obama would not associate with a domestic terrorist who committed those crimes when Obama was 8 years old.

I see "The One" we have been waiting for ,nothing more than a tool for those intending to distroy our country. Tools are dispensable when not adequate for the job at hand.
The fact that Ayers admits he wrote the book actually makes me less likely to believe he wrote the book.
She didn’t track him down, she said she recognized him and approached him on her own. It could have been a chance encounter, it could have been planned, for all I know he handed her the copy he wanted her to write and posed for a pic.
I believe that most if not all news is not random. Someone had to decide to tell you something through the news. This was Edward Bernay’s take on publicity, that each news item you see is someone’s decision.
A reporter, an editor, and several other people had to say OK to this release. Ayers himself could have said, Don’t publish this.
As I mentioned above, this could be an effort to discredit some “facts” in Barry’s books.
In an earlier century he would have called them "canon fodder."

The writer You refer to at WND is DR. JACK CASHILL! Dr. Cashill first disclosed his Earth Shaking Discovery last July before the Election! If the damn Media was doing their jobs, and NOT COVERING UP for OBOZO HUSSEIN, Dr. Cashill’s findings would have shown Obama to be the Fraudulent Author that he is, and most probably prevented this Travesty of a President from being Elected!

I just don’t think that fame and recognition drives him that much. Perhaps i’m wrong there, but even if it does i think he would have better ways to get the story out. I’m sure he has plenty of contacts, both in and outside of academia. He isn’t isolated and probably isn’t in need of turning to a no-name reporter to help him out.
I had forgotten Cashill, someone who likes publicity as well.
Here’s my take on it: Ayers knew instantly that the reporter was not his friend. Most lefties don’t even know what he looks like. We’re the ones who have been reading about him and looking at his picture. His comment about writing the book was to show her that he knew what the Right was saying about him, and that he knew she wasn’t his friend.
