EUGENE ROBINSON LOL, he is a MSNBC favorite ‘prize winner’, as Mathews calls him every night, he was on Hardball tonight in fact.

Mathews is very upset with 'the general' calling it a constitutional crisis, 'how dare he voice an opinion?? ' Mathews on the other hand loved generals on TV calling for surrender in Iraq under Bush, that was free speech.

Looks like McChrystal doesn't believe in coverups about why our guys are being killed needlessly.

The Obama regime's treachery and treason must be exposed and dealt with quickly.

Obama could liberate Afghanistan, as Bush did in Iraq. Or he can allow the barbarism of the World Wide Caliphate movement to end human freedom in Afghanistan and spread throughout the world.

Obama has no respect for freedom. His work since his phoney inauguration proves it.

Obama will create a war of attrition in Afghanistan, designed to grind down and ruin our military. It is already happening .

Welcome to Vietnam II.And further hatred of the federal government by Americans.

When will it end?

Wasn’t Eugene the genius that told us that the folks in the Superdome were eating each other?

If this General is ignored or forced to retire because of his views … I think his public feedback will make Obama’s manhood shrivel. (I will leave Obama’s manhood question to others.). I think Obama has a tiger by the tail.

The men with the stars on their shoulders — and I say this with enormous respect for their patriotism and service — need to shut up and salute.

Yes, that shows enormous respect. /sarc

Right. So the guys who have spent a CAREER studying the craft of war should just sit back and let some jackass who happened to win a popularity contest cause men and women to die from not having the first damn clue about anything to do with the military??

OMG - how can anyone be so deluded to think the zero results community organizer should be in charge of a GENERAL who deals with REAL life and death matters?

This is insanity.

Robinson needs to get his goatsmellin’ ass over there in a trench with an M-16 and then maybe I’d try to give a **** about anything he says. Until then he needs to STFU! He’s a punk!

Wow. "Projectile vomit alerts" are usually just a rhetorical warning, but when I read this I actually threw up in my mouth a little. "The men with the stars on their shoulders" should spit in Ubama's fat face and resign before they let that sick Kenyan scumbag declare defeat in Afghanistan and waste the sacrifices of America's finest young men because all he can do is vote "present" as he tries to figure out what is politically best for himself.

There's still more than 3 years left of this p.o.s.
Wow.

Shut up and salute? Tell that to the Nazi’s who sat on trial for ‘shutting up and saluting’.

By the time Obama’s term is finished, the military will be nothing more than a glorified home security force.

Democrats have always disliked the military and now they can do something about it.

Afghanistan will only get worse, right up till we run away. This is one of the main reasons that Dems had to be stopped at all costs in 2006 and 2008.

Oh well.....

But [Lt. Gen McChrystal] has no business conducting a public campaign to build support for his preferred option, which is to send tens of thousands more troops into a country once called the "graveyard of empires."

If not the generals then who? Who can stop a repeat?

The quagmire today is in the same place it was 45 years ago -- in Washington!

Obama is the U.S. forces' LBJ and McNamara.

Obama will do nothing for the troops if it harms his domestic agenda.

"Robert McNamara and U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson's staff . . . were more concerned with political victories in the US, than military victories in South Vietnam." [A review of book, below]

Colonel H.R. McMaster, 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment, wrote Dereliction of Duty: Lyndon Johnson, Robert McNamara, The Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Lies that Led to Vietnam.

The book took 5 years to research and was completed in 1997 as a part of McMaster's Ph.D. thesis at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

It's been ten years since I read it but I think an important point was the generals should have been forthright with the civilians and Maxwell Taylor, Kennedy's powerful military adviser then later appointed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs who remained with LBJ through 1964.

It seemed that not even LeMay stood up, if I remember correctly -- except when he and his cigar always positioned themselves next to Taylor who hated smoking.

Never again! Today's generals seem to be speaking up. This time the war is for all the marbles. We must support them.

Never again will America stand by and allow the left to try and destroy our Military... Vietnam NEVER AGAIN! Kill the enemy in such great numbers and with such devastating effect that like with the Crusades... they remain docile for centuries.

Well, we got rid of MacArthur for the same thing, did we not?

He wanted to take the Korean War into China and when Truman didn’t agree, MacArthur went public.

On the other hand, Truman was a Democrat, too!

Maybe the General should do the opposite of this libtards column and file a lawsuit claiming that the person currently residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave is doing so Illegally. Seems to me Gen. Stanley McChrystal could be the one person who could bring down the usurper. If he does not have standing to ask if he is following orders from the LEGAL CinC, than no one does.
