This 1977 photo shows Polish-French filmmaker Roman Polanski (right) leaving the Santa Monica Superior Court with his attorney Douglas Dalton after pleading guilty to a charge of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl. Polanski's lawyers have vowed to fight his extradition to the US over a three-decade-old child sex case and called his surprise detention in Switzerland "illegal". (AFP/File)

>> Dutch-born director Jan Kounen has withdrawn his Cannes-premiered movie about Coco Chanel from the Zurich film festival in protest at the arrest of filmmaker Roman Polanski

Sounds like a “win-win” to me.

A general view shows the chalet 'Milky Way', which is, according to Swiss newspapers, the chalet of Oscar-winning film director Roman Polanski in the Swiss mountain resort of Gstaad September 30, 2009. Lawyers for Polanski lodged an appeal with a Swiss court on Tuesday against his arrest on a U.S. extradition warrant to face sentence for having sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977. Wow! So some director is pulling a film idolizing a Nazi collaborator because the Swiss have thrown a rapist in jail. Okay.

Schildknecht said the move was not targeted at the festival but against Switzerland following Polanski's detention in Zurich this week.

I can just all those despondent Swiss hurling themselves off the mountain tops at this development.
Really, these arteeests need to get over themselves.

That’s right bringing a sicko to justice for doping, raping and sodomizing a 13 year old girl is a travesty... a travesty I say... it most be stopped.

Good, now cancel the whole stupid conference. The spoiled brats should be thankful they still have a place to live, instead of telling us alll how great they are.

Really a stupid thing to do.

1. supporting a sex pervert labels you as questionable at least.

2. Borrowing money to make a film, and then destroying it’s chances for success deliberately over a sex pervert sure does put a mark on you for the banks to never lend you a penny in the future.

What a total putz.

Polanski needs to spend the rest of his life in jail.
