In all fairness, downtown Atlanta was packed 19 years ago when it was announced that the city had gotten the 1996 Olympics. The AOC sold t-shirts for months prior to the event and they passed out signs at the gathering (my mother worked for the AOC for two years prior to the selection and all the way through the games in 1996). I have no issues with that stuff.
