ACORNS IN THE WHITE HOUSE
(1) ACORN's man in the Obama White House is longtime ACORN operative Patrick Gaspard. He holds the title of White House political affairs director, the same title Karl Rove held in President Bush's White House. He's the Presidents fixer and the man who gets ACORN projects and money. Gaspard once worked for ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis.
(2) Patrick Gaspards brother Michael Gaspard works for The Advance Group. Michael Gaspard works for ACORNs registered lobbying organization and with ACORNs national spokesman. Michael apparently keeps a lower profile than his brother. He does not appear on lobbyist disclosures for The Advance Group NY State. Nonetheless, he works there. Ms. Lewiss contacts list confirms Michael Gaspards employment there.
(3) Shaun Donovan. Mr. Donovan is HUD Secy. Before that, Mr. Donovan was NYC Commissioner of Dept of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD)---where Donovan worked on affordable housing initiatives----projects right up ACORNs alley.
(4) Karine Jean-Pierre is WH liaison for Dept of Labor (headed by latino agitator Hilda Solis). Karine once worked for John Edwards (vertical or horizontal?). She left there to work for Cong Anthony Weiner, then became Barack Obamas regional political director.
The web of connections from ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis straight into the White House, out the other door into HUD and the Dept of Labor (headed by latino agitator Hilda Solis), then circle back to ACORNs lobbying operation.
ACORNS EVERYWHERE Senate Finance Committee Study
ACORN comprises a mind-boggling 94 different affiliates, that amounts to "a big shell game," a biting Senate Finance Committee study shows. The study, by the staff of Iowa Republican Charles Grassley, reveals four ACORN charity groups give more than half their revenue to taxable entities that engage in "impermissible lobbying and political activity." ACORN and its subsidiaries for decades have moved taxpayer money into their own pockets and into the left-wing Marxist machine. Sen Charles Grassley's documents show leaders of ACORN community groups transferred several million dollars in charitable and government money-----meant for the poor---- to parts of the group that have political (and sometimes profit-making) missions. Sen Grassley's documents indicate that ACORN's tax-exempt groups----along with its tangled web of allied organizations---- used more than half their charitable and public money in 2006 to pay other ACORN affiliates.

REFERENCE Patrick Gaspard, ACORN, and Obama
National Review | September 28, 2009 | Stanley Kurtz
FR Posted by kingattax
With the revelation that White House Director of Political Affairs, Patrick Gaspard, has close ties to Bertha Lewis and to ACORN, Matthew Vadum and Erick Erickson appear to be onto something significant. While the Gaspard matter needs further investigation before we form any hard conclusions, it certainly seems to confirm that President Obamas ties to a whole series of ACORN-controlled organizations are neither minor nor by any means long-past. In fact, making use of what Erickson and Vadum have discovered about Gaspard, we can trace these links still further.
Theres been a good deal of attention to ACORN of late, and deservedly so. Yet for all the fuss, what is arguably the most important Obama-Acorn tie of all has gotten short shrift. During the 2008 election, Obamas close links to the far-left New Party were revealed and explored (although not by the mainstream press).
Yet many seem to have forgotten that the New Party, particularly in Chicago, was dominated by ACORN (and by an ACORN-controlled SEIU union local).
During the campaign, I detailed Obamas New Party ties in two pieces, "Something New Here," and "Life of the New Party." Important evidence of Obamas pursuit of the New Party endorsement can also be found in the September-October 1995 issue of "New Ground," newsletter of the Chicago chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America.
Obamas New Party ties matter because they show that his links to ACORN went far beyond shared on-the-ground organizing, legal representation, training, or even funding (although all of those ties existed and were important). By running for office with the New Party, Obama was effectively indicating that he shared ACORNs radical political goals.
So its of interest that in late 1995, just as Obama was seeking New Party endorsement in Chicago, Patrick Gaspard was working as a New Party organizer in New Jersey. (This was reported in "Jersey Man Hopes to Create Third Political Party," NPR, "Morning Edition, " September 28, 1995). Then, in the July 2, 2001 issue of "The Nation," Gaspard and Bertha Lewis jointly published a reply to a June 4 Nation article by Doug Ireland which had been critical of the New Yorks Working Families Party (a successor to the New Party, led by New Party co-founder Dan Cantor, and largely controlled by ACORN and the SEIU).
In the course of their letter, Gaspard and Lewis describe their extensive joint involvement in Working Families Party activities. The letter is signed: "Bertha Lewis, ACORN, WFP; Patrick Gaspard, SEIU State Council, WFP."
This does seem to confirm and extend the new evidence of a close political tie between Patrick Gaspard and ACORNs Bertha Lewis. No doubt, some will dismiss the newly revealed connections between the Obama administration, Patrick Gaspard, Bertha Lewis, and ACORN as "guilt by association." Yet it seems to me that the evidence points to something more significant than that. We are talking about a persistent and shared political-ideological alliance between President Obama and the complex of community, labor, and party organizations controlled by ACORN. (See especially "Life of the New Party" for more on New Party ideology.)
Again, the Gaspard issue is new and needs further investigation and consideration. Yet preliminary indications are that the Gaspard-ACORN-Bertha Lewis-New Party-WFP-SEIU ties are significant, and tell us something disturbing about the political ideology and intentions of President Obama.
In particular, the connection between Gaspard, Lewis, the New Party, and the Working Families Party ought to draw our attention back to what may ultimately be the most important Obama-ACORN tie of all, his time with Chicagos New Party.

ACORN plot found, Oklahoma GOP says
The Daily Oklahoman | Wednesday, September 30, 2009 | Michael McNutt
FR Posted by RasterMaster
A Republican state legislator released documents Tuesday which he says show the community-organizing group ACORN focused on helping Democrats in three legislative races in the November 2008 election and had developed a game plan to "take power in Oklahoma within five years. "They say theyre not political, but one of the subdirectories was called political action plans, Reynolds said. "It was their political plans to take over key targeted races in Oklahoma City to show how powerful they are. One of the key legislative races mentioned in the documents was the Senate District 43 race involving Reynolds brother. State Sen. Jim Reynolds, an Oklahoma City Republican who won by about 3,600 votes in 2004, won by 159 votes in 2008. Mike Reynolds said he was contacted in late summer 2008 by people who had leased office space near SW 25 and Robinson Avenue to ACORN. He was told the group had stopped paying the lease. Reynolds said he bought two computers for which passwords were found in desks.
Oklahoma Republican Party Chairman Gary Jones said ACORN, officially the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, had three Oklahoma City offices in 2008. The organization now does not list any Oklahoma City office on its Web site. No one answered at an ACORN office Tuesday in Tulsa. Messages left at an ACORN office in Washington were not returned. A spokesman with The Advance Group, a New York-based company which handles public relations for ACORN, said Tuesday he was unaware of the documents. Todd Goodman, chairman of the Oklahoma Democratic Party, said he was unaware ACORN had any volunteers working in Oklahoma City during the 2008 elections.
Goodman questioned the release of the documents a year after their alleged discovery. Reynolds, who said he had been busy with legislative matters the past several months, said about 1,600 documents are on the computers. Some of them have nothing to do with Oklahoma and deal with other states. He said he has converted nearly 60 into a document format that can be viewed by most computer users; hes posted them on a Web site, which he said is not yet available to the public. His intent "is to dispel the idea that ACORN wasnt a political organization, Reynolds said. "Thats all they were about was politics.
Most of the documents on Reynolds Web site, made available to The Oklahoman, are not on any letterhead. Few have any dates or any indication who wrote them. Reynolds said computer files show who composed them. Jones said several show the files were created on a computer at state Democratic Party headquarters. Goodman denied the allegation. The released documents also include what appears to be a form letter on Oklahoma City ACORN stationery asking the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to expedite the processing of immigrant citizen applications. State Sen. Andrew Rices name is on the bottom of the letter; his signature is not. Rice, D-Oklahoma City, said Tuesday he didnt write the letter and never worked with anyone from ACORN.

The tax-exempt Clinton Foundation supposedly provided $275,000 in grants for ACORNSS "Katrina Benefits Access project" and ACORN'S "Operation Hope Project; Restore Hope."
The tax-exempt Clinton Foundation also helped secure "private sector" commitments for ACORN.

Soren noted the Troy, NY story here: id just like to additionally note that WH Political Director Patrick Gaspard (is actually even now working with the WFP in NYC elections). Just to make it clear that there is no real separation between any of these groups.
“And the ballots themselves explicitly link the fraud to Democratic Party officials and Working Family Party officials to that fraud.”

ACORN’s Prophetic Lawyer (must read)
The American Spectator ^ | October 1, 2009 | Matthew Vadum
ACORN’s lawyer warned ACORN 15 months ago to begin fixing its massive internal problems or face certain catastrophe. ACORN didn’t listen. It let the problems fester.
The advice from Elizabeth Kingsley of Harmon, Curran, Spielberg Eisenberg LLP came in the form of an eerily prophetic legal memo to ACORN dated June 19, 2008, the day before ACORN’s national board fired disgraced founder Wade Rathke.
The memo is a kind of Holy Grail for ACORN researchers. One source of mine keeps a copy in a safety deposit box. I’ve lost track of how many people have asked me over the last year if I knew how to get a hold of it. One source told me yesterday that there are many people who would “kill” to gain possession of it. This is a bit of an exaggeration perhaps, but not much.
