In her speech in Copenhagen today, First Lady Michelle Obama said her trip to Denmark, along with the travel of her “dear friend” and “chit-chat buddy” Oprah Winfrey, as well as tomorrow’s visit by President Obama, is a “sacrifice” on behalf of the children of Chicago and the United States. “As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days,” the first lady told a crowd of people involved in the Chicago project, “so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home.”

A “sacrifice”? Why? Filling sandbags at the Georgia floods would be a sacrifice. A trip to Copenhagen on a presidential jet does not qualify as a sacrifice. Even if, on principle, you don’t like Europe or Europeans.

Not like the horrendous sacrifice of

complete with a retinue of attendants, including make up magicians,

and unlimited grilled lobster , Beluga caviar and the best French champagne.
All paid for by the American taxpayers.
Including those who have given their lives in Afghanistan.
A sacrifice would be feeding Sudanese or Ethiopian children ... delivering AIDS medicine to Africa ... putting on body armor and a helmet to review land-mine removal efforts first hand.
Or even boxing up canned goods for the food pantry.
Wait — wrong gal.
Michelle could even stay home with her own kids and help them with their homework.
jetting around the world on MY dime is not a sacrifice. Trade places with me ... bale hay, help with cattle, sling hash in a restaurant ... now that would be a sacrifice

Considering how easy the hos are in the ghetto, the Chinese athletes might actually have sex. I mean, with twenty to thirty million men facing eternal virginity it may acutally be a good thing to ‘make men’ out of them. Some of them anyway.

Because Oprah, whether we like or not is a huge asset with her fanbase. It’s what all Democrats do with celebs. They let them tag along on the occasional official engagement, make them think they are actually part of the process, and then celebs fall at their feet, think they are vital to the administration’s survival, and barrage their dipwit fans into voting for them.
They play celebrities like violins, just like Chavez, Saddam, and Castro does.
George III was a king and for all his tyranny did dedicate himself to the empire.
Power. After becoming famous, celebrities want substance and they don’t care how they go about getting it.
