I am bummed. First I had to break all my Barbara Streisand albums and now Bette. Why do they have to open their mouths - why couldn’t she just keep her opinions to her cocktail party circuit?

If you have CDs don't break them, use them for beer coasters.

Every media group that's given the finger to the half of the population that's conservative has lost money - newspapers, magazines, "nightly network news", movies, and record companies.

If McDonald's wouldn't serve conservatives, they'd go under ... so would Coke --- don't liberals ever look at the numbers?

Bette - you're a fool.

Liberal coworker and I were discussing television, movies, etc. We had a long day to work together and little work to be done. An interesting anecdote to the conversation was she started discussing celebrity lives off the screen and I said I didn't follow the tabloid talk. I liked being able to enjoy an artists work. I don't care how many husbands/wives, what paparazzi this/that, or about their personal politics, unless they were trying to use their art for political purposes. She claimed if they were public people than it was all fair game and I responded that it wouldn't be like that if the culture changed their attitude about how they treated their artists. A return to respecting the artist work and leaving what should be their private lives, private as a matter of decorum & politeness.

It is a shame that Bette views it as fit to open her mouth on the world of politics. Will I smash all her records and destroy her movies. No, I own them for the artist she is and acquired them long before this little fray of hers into politics. Will I grace her TV show with watching it, no, she will not be rewarded by me with a ratings blip or a commercial sponser purchase.
