In recent years, political polling has recorded undeniable gains for the pro-life movement. What used to be a 2 to 1 advantage for the term “pro-choice” over “pro-life,” has now shrunk to basically 50-50. But even in the early years of polling on the abortion, when intensity as a voting issue was gauged, the pro-life side generally enjoyed a 3-5 to 1 edge.

The exceptions to this rule have always been A: major cities and college towns which tend to have more young and single people, and B: areas with large Jewish populations.

In 20 years of working with candidates, I have only had one candidate who regularly took major flak for having a spotless pro-life voting record-a Jewish State Representative whose district included townships with Michigan’s largest Jewish communities.

After one public meeting I attended, he was harangued by two women who got in his face for his pro-life stand. Their arguments included more than a touch of Margaret Sanger-esque rhetoric about filling the welfare roles with “unwanted children.” As we left my client muttered, “You’d think Jews would be done with eugenics by now.”

Struck by the incongruity myself, I asked him why he thought this was such a firm point with so many Jewish voters. “Two reasons,” he answered. “First, Jewish girls are told from about the time they learn to talk, `the first thing Hitler did was outlaw abortion.’ Second, they are afraid that the Christian Right is going to use the issue to take over the country and then, I don’t know. We would have Israel’s most loyal supporters in charge?”

spiritual struggle to cast his first vote for a Republican.
And gotten similar stories from callers on a number of shows that
might be titled “Why Are Jews Liberal?”.

Prager generally says that Jews were thankful to arrive in the USA...
and to get more “support” from liberal/Democratic-style organizations
as they tried to find their way in the USA.
(not all of them came with bags of gold as they fled the Czars or
nutburger-leaders of Europe).

By way of full disclosure, I am an unalloyed goy so I might be wading into waters which are much deeper than I know as I make the following generalizations:

There is a scriptural commandment in the Torah and in those writings which exegete it, to go forth not to proselytize but to do good. As conservatives, we recognize there is a human tendency to want to do more good by grabbing the levers of government to organize the whole of society to do even more good.

If one is secular, and I think these statistics embrace secular Jews to a far greater degree than observant Jews, the temptation is almost irresistible to play God. If one is to play God, by definition, one seeks to play in the biggest playground of all and that is offered up along with control of the levers of government. Hence, Jewish secularists, like Christian secularists, as a group tend to be statists.

Jewish tradition going back to Russia is a tradition of socialism. For example, that tradition was carried over into the kibbutzim in Israel.

Jewish culture puts a premium on education and traditionally makes the fool the butt of jokes. This is been especially harmful to George Bush. In the modern American secular Jewish culture to announce oneself to be a Republican is the practical equivalent of taking a pratfall in front of all your neighbors and friends at the country club. Can you imagine a Jewish intellectual at a prestigious American University confessing to one and all that he supports George Bush? As a kid I can recall being told how stupid Dwight Eisenhower was and every subsequent Republican president in my lifetime has been called either stupid or clumsy or both -except Nixon.

Liberalism is a substitute religion and therefore secular Jews, like secular goyim, gravitate to that political persuasion. Liberalism as a religion trumps religious affiliation of non- observant Jews and trumps cultural affinity to Jews who might otherwise be sympathetic to Israel. Because of Europe's unfortunate history of programs, Jews traditionally are wary of aggressive Christianity and many secular Jews have not yet come to the understanding that American fundamentalist Christians are great friends of Israel and hence of Jews in general. There are other issues which Jewish history make Jews as a group favor one side as a matter of self-preservation. These include, for example, immigration. And they also include the end to segregation and civil rights for all races and creeds.

Barak Obama, of course, is the beau ideal of the black man, well-educated and articulate, who is on the right side of all of these issues and who embodies in his own person the inclusiveness which, if universally practiced, protects Jews as a class.

Why are there Anti-American Brits?

America and Britain share a common language, culture, heritage, etc.

What I think is that when a group of people perceive that there is no chance of they themselves sitting at the top of the heap, they choose to follow an alternative rather than even joining those at the top because they just see it as being second fiddle no matter what.

Especially when those people are Jewish because they are Q”God's chosen people” and the Brits have royalty and see themselves as an extension of royalty over the rest of us peasants on the planet.

Not all of them though but I do think that is the gist of it when it comes down to those types.

The entire Old Testament is a history of the Jews screwing up and God punishing them for their wayward ways. Even knowing that God chose the Jews as his people, the Jews began to worship other gods and broke his covenant at every turn. I'd say the Jews have a pretty good track record at straying from the righteous path. So, what else is new? The Christians are no different and the majority of us stray....its about time God returned and set us straight..

The same Jews who believe “the first thing Hitler did was outlaw abortion” believe that Hitler and the whole Nazi movement were Christian, carrying out the REAL Christian agenda. Add in the Soviet lie that Hitler was “right-wing,” it’s easy to see why so many Jews fear the “Christian Right.”

I once belonged to a Jewish-Christian dialogue group. It should have been called “I’m the only conservative in this room!” group.

Anyway, in this group the Jewish women passionately defended abortion as a matter of personal freedom. When I referred to the Holocaust and suggested that Jews of all people should oppose anything that cheapens life, all I got were blank looks.

Prager is the most articulate and reasoned person on radio.

The American Jews hated, and continue to hate Nixon even though he helped save Israel from complete collapse during the 1973 Yom Kippur War. I suspect he is better thought of in Israel.

Because they hate believing Christians and the social positions they espouse: freedom of religion, opposition to abortion, and resistance to the homosexual agenda. Most American Jews are secular unbelievers. They don't believe in God and despise anyone who does. That is why largely Jewish organizations like the ACLU will seek out the most distant small town high school in rural Texas to prevent prayers at high school football games. Jewish liberals, through their prominence in the media, the judiciary, and the entertainment industry, have had a terribly negative influence on American culture, inflicting decadence and causing damage all out of proportion with their raw numbers in the society.
