.....in an e-mail obtained by The Post.....embattled ACORN organizer Bertha Lewis begs for donations and blasts Congress for cutting ACORN's money......after workers were caught on tape advising how to cheat on taxes and get federal funds to house a brothel. Bertha added: "Fox News and the right-wing smear machine told them to do it. But that doesn't mean we're prepared to stand by silently while the right wing exploits this situation to score political points."

Senate Finance Committee Study ACORN comprises a mind-boggling 94 different affiliates, that amounts to "a big shell game," a biting Senate Finance Committee study shows. The study, by the staff of Iowa Republican Charles Grassley, reveals four ACORN charity groups give more than half their revenue to taxable entities that engage in "impermissible lobbying and political activity." ACORN and it’s subsidiaries for decades have moved taxpayer money into their own pockets and into the left-wing Marxist machine. These tax-exempt N/P scams need to be shut down pronto.

Sen Charles Grassley's documents show leaders of ACORN community groups transferred several million dollars in charitable and government money-----meant for the poor---- to parts of the group that have political (and sometimes profit-making) missions. Sen Grassley's documents indicate that ACORN's tax-exempt groups----along with its tangled web of allied organizations---- used more than half their charitable and public money in 2006 to pay other ACORN affiliates.

The IRS has pinpointed N/Ps as the locus classicus for tax evasion and money laundering. The BIGGEST N/P fraud --- a N/P writing checks to another N/P. That's how the "altruistic" siphon off money for other uses, tax-free. Bad enough they launder their own money----in ACORN'S case, this was OUR money.

REMEDY (1) Taxpayers demand an injunction requiring states immediately cease accepting so-called voter registrations submitted by ACORN, and that all current voter rolls be cross-referenced against ACORN'S lists of 'registrations' already submitted to nullify any and all voter frauds committed.

(2) Taxpayers demand all govt funding of ACORN be stopped at once.

I think this could very well be the beginning of the end for ACORN.

They really stepped in it this time.

I think now ACORN, their subsidiaries, satellite offices and affiliates will all be investigated in almost all states for a variety of criminal activities including but not limited to obstruction of justice, voter fraud and intimidation, bribery, racketeering, money laundering and income tax evasion.

This morning, the ACORN scandal was raised to Charlie Gibson in an interview on WLS AM Chicago’s “Don Wade & Roma Morning Show.”

TRANSCRIPT:

Don: Ok here’s my question, Senate bill yesterday passes cutting off funds to this group called ACORN. Now we got the…we got that bill passing, we got the embarrassing video of ACORN staff giving tax advice on how to set up a brothel with 13 year old hookers. It has everything you could want corruption and sleazy action at tax funded organizations that’s got government ties. But nobody’s covering that story why?

Charlie Gibson: (laugh) I don’t even know about it. Uh, so you got me at a loss, I don’t know. Uh, uh, but, but My goodness if it’s got everything including sleaziness in it we should talk about it this morning.

Roma: This is the American way…

Charlie Gibson: Well maybe, maybe that’s one you just leave to the cables.

Roma: Well I think that this is a huge issue because there’s so much funding that goes into this organization and it’s a multi…

Charlie Gibson: Well, I know we’ve done some stories about ACORN before but uh, uh this one I don’t know about.

Roma: Jake Tapper did some blogging on it. I know he’s at least blogged once on this scandal.

Now maybe some Republicans can win a few elections.

Did you ever see a mushroom growing on your lawn, and either kick it or run over it with a lawn mower? The result is a dozen or so more mushrooms. That's the same thing that we'll see with ACORN - many new organizations, all with the same goals, will spring up.

Republicans might benefit from this in 2010, but by the time 2012 arrives, we'll see the same old story being replayed. It'd sure be nice to see a few states pass legislation that re-centralizes voter registration and takes it out of the hands of the "community organizers". With that damned Motor-Voter law in place, though, that'll be tough.

penelopesire posted: My guess is that it will be even worse than that when the books are finally gone over with a fine tooth comb. ACORN (acting as the democrats personal honey pot) took millions of dollars out of the hands of the poor and deserving non-profits that were competing for federal funds.....and illegally converted it to political and profit-making groups. If this is not enough to bring down the democrats and ACORN, our country is in real trouble.

ACTION PROJECTS State systems of voter verification should be investigated to determine if ACORN stole federal funds intended for the poor, to get Democrat candidates elected -- to hand Democrats veto-proof majorities needed to enact its funding agendas.

Keep in mind that elected officials are held to a higher legal authority---what is acceptable behavior for citizens might be a crime for elected legislators under oath of office.

Democrat candidates may have colluded w/ ACORN to deceive constituents. The FBI should interrogate Democrat candidates to determine if ACORN received anything of value to pull off the deception---money, jobs, political cover, to facilitate the deception, and whether they colluded to misuse Congessional influence.

Democrat candidates's official campaign finance records filed with the FEC, and state election commission, should be scrutinized for possible violations. Determine if Democrat candidates's contributors are legit and whether Democrat candidates illegally used campaign funds, and whether ACORN gave Democrat candidates campaign contributions to influence funding votes.
