(Glenn)Beck speaks to 7,000 at Seattle: 'The American people have not surrendered'
Seattle Times ^ | Saturday, September 26, 2009 | Susan Gilmore

In a sea of 7,000 fans, controversial TV and radio talk-show host Glenn Beck took his crusade to Safeco Field today, saying he is the voice of reason in a divided America.

"I am a flawed human being," said Beck, 45. "But I'm in a position to ring the bell of warning."

Beck, sponsored by the Evergreen Freedom Foundation, came to Seattle amid a torrent of anger over his proclamation on July 28 that President Obama was a racist and that he believed the president has a "deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture."

Outside the stadium, about 30 protesters rallied against Beck.

Beck didn't criticize Obama in his hourlong talk, and spoke more about how both political parties are flawed. "We send these people to Washington and they go crazy on us," said Beck, as his supporters cheered and waved yellow flags with the words "Don't Tread on Me."

Or maybe FOX is doing it so they can say ‘look, we carried your speech to the CBC, no one else did.’ Maybe the other stations are racist for not covering the speech? ;-)

Or maybe they're covering it to appease prima donna O'Reilly in his attempt to serenade Obama for another interview?

Don’t know if it’s already mentioned but the 6 pictures accompanying the article were anti beck and fox.

However, the ratio of attendees were 7,000 proBeck to 30 antiBeck. No wonder those papers suck.

Nope, you’re the first to mention the photos which I didn’t post because I wasn’t sure if the source was permitted on FR.

I hadn't heard the qoute before, but I have heard the concept before. I believe it was bigfootbob from our WA chapter that suggested it would be easier to get rid of a totally incompetent radical lefty than it would a RINO who acquiesed at the hint of any controversy.

I don't remember if the contest was Rienheart vs Darcy or Cantwell vs McClintock (sp? Safeco guy)

You don't seem to care for Sarah Palin at all. Guess all that appeal and energizing of conservatives and traditionalists meant nothing to you. Guess Joe Biden would have been much better. LOL

Not sure how you came to that conclusion. I actually like Palin but do you really think a VP, any VP, has any real power. Do you really think McCain would have let her upstage him as VP? Whether you like it or not that is the reality. McCain only picker her to appeal to the conservative base. It worked. It got him a lot of our votes.

McCain supports Cap and Trade. He supports amnesty. He has yet to criticize publicly the things that Obama is doing. At least, I have yet to see any criticism.

Again, Palin's only chance to do anything like what she did as governor would be if McCain was not able to hold office. Basically she would have been a figurehead.

Beck's point was that the march to socialism under McCain would have been the slow and steady march that he supported for the last twenty years in the name of bipartisanship. Under Obama people are waking up and seeing the whole picture not just little bits.

McCain would have been a eunuch politically under a dem Congress - just like Bush was for the last four years.

It's not hard to understand what Beck was saying, is it? You nailed it. Why are some people getting so upset at Beck's opinion, which he's spent 30 minutes or more backing up?

To me this is the more interesting question. McCain's a weasel and always has been. Why is it so difficult to believe that he could've been worse than Obama by a now greater liklihood of getting the Obama/McCain Statist program passed.

What Beck is saying, is that McCain would've been a more successful politician in slowly raising the heat under the frog in a pot. Obama's throwing the frog in a boiling pot. The frog represents the American People.

Why does saying this thought enrage a number of people? I don't get that.

I agree with Beck too. McCain would have destroyed the GOP and pushed the country even more to the Left. Palin would have been insignificant in 2012, assuming if McCain would have only served one term (yeah right).

Yeah, I know what he was “trying” to say...and in theory there is some truth in it, but in reality (where we live) The Marxist Hussein is doing irreversable harm that can only be undone by some very ugly future events.
