By saying that Republican John McCain would have been a worse president than Barack Obama............
(I have no use for the rest of this website's drivel. I just want the substance of what Beck said)

Real conservatives have to be like Jesus. You share the law with the lost (tell people when they are doing wrong)...then for the truly repentant you share grace (justified and sanctified).
fwiw, i disagree with Beck here. McCain would not have been worse than Obama.
The SC alone is too important. Although, I doubt Souter would have left if McCain had won.
I think he was somewhat influenced by the effect Obama has had on his own career. With McCain in the WH, Beck’s show would not have taken off to nearly the degree it has. Also, it was near the end of a 45 minute interview and it seemed he was just trying to be controversial.
I do agree. I would go further and say one big reason we have the American hating left in charge of the government is the failure of people in places like this to stand behind a great president.
There is this tendency to compare current members of the GOP with this myth of Reagan. That is as opposed to Reagan the politician who signed an amnesty bill, signed the largest tax increase in US history up to that time, cut and ran in the middle east after an attack on the Marines and appoint a muddled thinker like S.D. O’Connor to the US Supreme Court.
I think thats a good tack to take, because the hard left is busy playing lets you and him fight.
Becks got a great eye for the macro view, and for tying pieces of history together. His special program on the early 20th century progressive movement was brilliant, as was his part in bringing The 5000 Year Leap back to the forefront after 25 years.
The first time I heard him, several years ago in Florida, he was more of the sick, twisted freak guy - yes, hes intense, but I have come to believe his intentions for our countrys survival are absolutely on-track.
We need all of them.
Bumping your comments. I agree 100%.
Sorry, I lost my temper.....I have been listening to all the anti-Beck for a few days.....I live 20 miles from his Seattle appearance today. Honestly, the local papers have all but blamed him for the suicide of his mother, some alleged crass comment to a fellow male worker about his wifes miscarriage, and of course the end of civilized debate as we know it.
I agree with all you say. I am particularly irritated that Beck went for an interview with CBS. He should be ashamed. That is the kind of bonehead move McCain would force on his running mate.
If Beck wants to be loved by the MSMediots, then he is not the guy for me. He can join O’Moron in that.
It was the Kenyan that polarized us. McCain could have been the party leader, but he has made it obvious that he is not a leader. Rather than wallow in his defeat he should have continued supporting conservatives causes. Look at what Palin is doing.
McCain is not doing this because it was never about being conservative or being Republican to him...it was about McCain.
Beck woke up when 911 happened. I was here in Tampa when it happened. That is when he started taking a stand. I’m sorry that Mark L thinks he’s stupid...hey...you can’t please everyone.
Me too, although Savage drives me to distraction with his real lack of recognition for his effort on behalf of the "cause", his petty sniping at the others, and of course his banning in Britain. Here, he comes on a 3 hour tape delay, so I go walking when he is on, and listen nearly every night.... I mostly KNOW what the news will be, what can be talked about on Rush...but Beck and Savage actually surprise me at times with new insights and hard knowledge.
If you watched the end of the interview you’ll see why he went on. Couric mentions in the course of plugging his book that it is published by Simon and Schuster which is owned by CBS. That probably had something to do with it.
Also, he mentioned how the photo TIME used was years old. Is that legal? Can any magazine just pick any picture of some they want and put it on the cover? I guess so.
So you are saying Beck is a sellout?
And yes anyone can publish any picture they want of someone.
I don’t think he’s a sellout, but with his publisher being owned by CBS and his book coming out and Couric mentioning at the start and the end of the interview that probably explains much of why he went on. A little synergy, cross promotion, etc... At least I would think that’s how the idea started. I doubt Beck just decided on his own to go on the show or Kaite Couric decided I really want him on.
Clearly the book is a big deal for him and he’s hoping it does well. Couric’s new online show is also a big deal for her and CBS. Beck is the hottest media personality in the country at the moment. I doubt he went on just because he felt like it and wanted to be on. It was more like CBS had a big new project they were debuting, Beck had a big new book they were publishing and they wanted to help both of them. I don’t think it’s selling out. I doubt he got paid for going on the show, and given Couric’s audience I doubt many of them are going to buy his book anyway, so in the end I don’t think it amounts to much.
That said, CBS also owns Threshold Editions which published Mark Levin’s book and I don’t recall him going on the CBS Evening News(his sales don’t seem to have suffered for it) so I guess Beck did have some say in the matter. If he didn’t want to do it, he wouldn’t have.
What Beck has done is:
1. publish a second book on top of his Common Sense book. I was thinking he should have let his first book playout before rushing another into print. Common Sense is still among the new books in my book store. He is acting like he thinks this is his 15 minutes of fame and he better not miss his opportunity to cash in.
2. given Couric and CBS an audience for this new show.
3. cooperated with our political enemies that want a change to make him look bad.
4. allowed them to divide conservatives by trying to look controversial in that interview. There was not real reason to say what he said in that interview except it is all about him apparently.
Mark needs to grow up. Mark should be honored his words are worthy of repeating. Did he write the book to be informative or only for selfish reasons?
can’t really disagree with that.
And I am not trying to say that I would control myself any better than Beck is doing in the same situation. All of these guys, Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, Savage, Ingram, Coulter etc have egos.
None of them should be followed like a “Dear Leader” any more than Obama should be.
