YouTube video of the address
I haven’t found a complete transcript, yet. Here are a few highlights:
- ”The message has been loud and it has been clear, they (the American People) don’t like the direction this health care debate is headed in.”
- About the Finance Committee bill, “If you have insurance, you get taxed. If you don’t have insurance, you get taxed. If you’re an employer who can not afford to provide health insurance to your employees, you get taxed. ....”
- Democrat plan only includes non-binding “Sense of the Senate” about medical liability.
- Democrats have demonized regular citizens for asking questions about their plans, imposing a gag order on insurers for suggesting anyone might lose benefits under the Democrats’ plan.

I hope someone can get the full transcript online (for anyone bandwidth challenged or otherwise unable to get to the YouTube video).

Overall, the message was good - but it was “Republicans want this...Democrats want that”. “Democrats are screwing us, Republicans just want to help”.
I don’t care what party you’re in - just find a way to kill the damn bill or lose your seat in the next election!!

I find it interesting that RINOs suddenly become Conservatives when they know they’re up for ReElection in 2010.
The one GOOD thing that Isakson does is to purchase his own health care coverage and pay into his own retirement.
See Sept 23rd Telephone Town Hall at http://isakson.senate.gov/townhall.html
He also mentioned that Congress no longer has the “salary for life” . . . anyone able to document/verify that?

Does anyone not remember that Iskison helped write Obama-Care Ver 1?
And yet you let this Rino pull the wool over your head?

“RINOs suddenly become Conservatives”
And we are working as hard as we can to get Isakson replaced in GA!
