Election 2010: California Senate
2010 California Senate: Boxer Beats Fiorina, DeVore
So far, so good for incumbent Democrat Barbara Boxer in match-ups against her two best-known Republican opponents to date in Californias 2010 race for the U.S. Senate.
A new Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 survey of the contest in California shows Boxer now beating former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina by 10 points 49% to 39%. Four percent (4%) like some other candidate, and eight percent (8%) are not sure how they will vote.
In July, Boxer led Fiorina by just four but had a 47% to 38% lead in March.
Against state Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, its a nine-point race, with Boxer ahead 46% to 37%. Seven percent (7%) prefer another candidate, and 10% are undecided.
Any incumbent who polls less than 50% is considered vulnerable, and 2010 is shaping up as a tough political year for Democrats. Still, Boxer, who is expected to seek a fourth term in the Senate next year, was reelected in 2004 with 58% of the vote, and California remains a heavily Democratic state.

Voters not affiliated with either party favor the Republican in both races.

I pray that Boxer (name is appropriate) is defeated.
Amen.
I guess Californians cannot learn from their mistakes. Re-electing Boxer? No wonder the state is in the gutter.
Republicans should start a nationwide campaign, at all levels, saying “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over again & thinking the results will be different” right under a pic of Pelosi, Boxer, Conyers, whoever. And then we need candidates who stand up for FREEDOM & limited government.
She’s Mucho hot air.
Chuck DeVore 2010!
It’s too bad we don’t have a candidate with Carly’s money and name recognition and Devore’s politics. It’s going to be hard for either to beat Boxer.
Sez Chuck D’s corner man Josh Trevino: “For all the money, name recognition, and DC/NRSC backing she brings, Fiorina is underperforming against a conservative state assemblyman with nothing but grassroots support and a hard-charging work ethic in campaigning. Big news, this — especially as the CRP begins today!”
Oh, and the message that Chuck D’s supporters will unlikely be pointing out all weekend: Carly isn’t going to be at the convention this weekend, and Chuck D. will be. And it isn’t going to help that everybody — Dems and Republicans — is goofing on Carly’s new website: carlyforcalifornia.com, which totally disrespects Chuck D by presuming that there will be a Carly v. Boxer finale.

Right on!
I don’t really see this as good news for Boxer. The republican vote is split between 2 candidates. Once there is only one opposing candidate we will see how well she is REALLY doing.
They always say an incumbent under 50% is in trouble. I also wonder if Carly is being overshadowed by Meg Whitman in the female biz star category.
The monolithic black and Demonrat votes for Boxer are too much for any real Republican to overcome.
Now if those people in the central valley will get out and really, really campaign on her vote to keep the water turned off CA might actually get rid of Boxer and start to pull itself and the country away from the abyss.
May God bless and protect the remaining few decent people stuck in California.
As to the rest, they deserve every ounce of misery their elected overlords heap upon them...
Looks to me like, once the Republicans get done trashing each other, Boxer wins in a walk....
hh
Indeed. They are really, really angry about what’s going on. They need to turn that anger into activism to throw Boxer out.
