“I think we’ve all learned a lesson today. Right, Cartman?”
Well I was really confused about what actually happened in this video so I decided to do a little leg work and find out for sure. First I was able to confirm, through a spokesperson, that the men in the video are NOT from the Pennsylvania National Guard who are on the ground assisting the police in crowd control but are NOT carrying weapons or making ANY arrests.
Next, given that the people in the video arent from the Pennsylvania National Guard, I wanted to see what the Police had to say about the video. So I contacted the Pittsburgh Police Department and they gave me the number for the G-20 Joint Information Center which handles press requests on G-20 related security questions.
The G-20 Joint Information Center, which can be reached at 412-402-7630, issued this statement to me which explains exactly what is going on in that video:
The individuals involved in the 9/24/2009 arrest which has appeared online are law enforcement officers from a multi-agency tactical response team assigned to the security operations for the G20.
It is not unusual for tactical team members to wear camouflaged fatigues. The type of fatigues the officers wear designates their unit affiliation. Prior to the arrest, the officers observed this subject vandalizing a local business. Due to the hostile nature of the crowd, officer safety and the safety of the person under arrest, the subject was immediately removed from the area.
So, yes, the video is real. However, it wasnt the military and the guy wasnt being kidnapped. Instead he was being arrested for vandalism.'

-I'll leave it in the Conspiracy bin until further needed.
Interesting that this is far from the first time the anarchists have caused mayhem at a G- whatever conference. Do I remember the damage caused a few years ago, in perhaps Seattle??
I notice they aren't displaying their orange-tipped toy gun in that photo.
An anarchist committing vandalism. Who woulda thunk it?
Thanks, that’s better digging.
If this is the case, they really should dispense with the unprofessional crazy uniforms and just wear civvies with visible i.d.. Why give more fuel to the bottle-throwers?
Not necessarily military either. The same questions that make a lot of folks think the video is fake could easily apply if they are not really military. They could be private security who just purchased military surplus uniforms to be more intimidating.
One thing to note, hoever, is that the Apparent Marines are not wearing patches on their uniforms
Maybe they’re undercover Marines ?
Lol. Continue reading.
never mind on 88, you are a few steps ahead of me..
LOL, I really need to hit refresh before responding..
Because they throw bottles whether you do it or not. Don’t worry. Mommy’s lawyer will get him out.
Relax. Outrageous sarcasm/satire is Laz’s way on FR.
Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8CNa_viKg0 and look at the guy in the foreground around 0:22. If you seen both videos, he should look familiar...?
He's the guy being arrested in the second video here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_acjSiJRbo
So it is two different people... but definitely around the same place and time. The red bandana around the neck guy just didn't get arrested yet...
Peace.
Looks like the military guys are with the police in that picture - mismatched boots and all.
I don’t blame anyone for questioning this whole thing, though as the Left is one with Hamas.
Totally staged..
Palli wood comes to the US
Don’t know where to put this but I haven’t been able to get to Drudge all day. Anyone else? Thanks
