Mark Levin was asked in an email today by Politico.com who has more influence, Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh. Mark's answer was clear (hear the brief audio at the jump).
The only thing missing when Mark said it was this music playing in the background...

Yeah. both Mark and Beck’s radio show came into my area at the same time.
“Uggh...I was with you until you listed Medved.”
Second that. Medved is a quite the manipulator, sometimes counselling surrender, often tugging conservatives to move left just a bit. And just a bit more. His red roots aren’t entirely silent.
You are correct.
Did you listen to his comments? - Mark is outraged at the crap diggers at Pollutico, and rightly so. Rush invented conservative talk radio, and the only people who can even imitate him are not on national markets; they are local, and occasionally get to fill in for Rush.
You’re right about Quinn, he’s outstanding.
I am a huge fan of Levin. I saw this coming several weeks ago when he made asides about “writers that don’t write their own books,” and wondered (without actually criticizing him) how Beck has time for everything he does: books, radio, tv, appearances, etc..
It’s extremely unfortunate. Both are very good at what they do. Levin is smarter, but what I like about Beck - and what makes him so powerful - is that he manages to be both a populist and a liberarian/conservative at the same time. Unlike say, O’Reilly or Savage who are populists but NOT ideological conservatives, or Limbaugh who is great, but pretty much a purely ideological guy.
I also agree that ALL of these guys are smarter than Hannity. I watch him, but he is a poor debater and very, very repetitive. If there’s a conservative about whom the accusation of spouting “talking points” might have some validity, it’s Sean. Useful, and a class act, but reeks of “C-Student.”
I hope Levin doesn’t pursue Beck with the same ferocity he does Savage/Weiner. Weiner deserves it....Beck doesn’t.
Hank
Nonsense! Mark has nothing to be jealous about. He is our nit-picking professor. He is the only guy out there educating America. Rush and Hannity lean heavily on Marks intellect and knowledge; Beck should.
Re: her gay brother. He's a sinner just like the rest of us. But obviously, something must have gone awry in his upbringing. I believe it is a "learned response" triggered by a troubled chidhood. As an example, a kid I grew up & his brother grew up with only their mother, who coddled & babied them them & didn't let them just be little boys. There father took off when they were toddlers. BOTH turned out to be gay. There have been many studies done on this & other family disfunction, leading to abnormal sexuality in adulthood.
Not sure if Laura ever tried to get her brother some help...but I hope she at least prays for him.
Good analysis Hank. I concur.
Is he right when he pushes amnesty for illegals, or the North American Union?
Is he right when he sucks up to the Global Warmers?
Note: I didn’t say Mark should pursue TV, only Ruah, again. I also agree Mark is not cut out for TV & fights Hannity on most of his “invitations.”
Agree on Savage vs. Beck. I listen to Mark Levin while driving home at night and I think he’s been dropping hints, as you say, for a very long time that he doesn’t like Beck. I think different talk radio hosts serve different roles. Limbaugh’s gift has always been to distill complex points down to make them easy to understand and remember (a point Beck was making on his radio show this morning) and I think Beck is currently performing that role, too, but with a bit more theatrics and emotion and a bit less class. Because they distill things down, both Limbaugh and Beck sometimes over-simplify and sometimes get details wrong. Sean Hannity seams like a very nice guy but he’s basically a cheerleader and, like you say, a poor debater (I’ve seen Colmes clean his clock) and repetitive. Mark Levin is basically an intellectual who sweats the details. My main problem with him is that unlike the others, he’s angry and can get nasty. While there is certainly a market for that and it can be entertaining, it’s going to limit his popularity. Complaining about who writes Beck’s books is petty coming from someone who has a best seller. At least he didn’t get Bill Ayers as a ghost writer.
What proof do you have that Rush never voted until he was 37?
Why do I get the feeling that the reason Hannity is getting in on the ACORN video act is because Beck is starting to beat him in the ratings?
You must have some wires crossed.
In your profile, you mention that libertarians helped elect Johnson, Carter, Clinton, and Obama, which is partially true. Yet, you bash Rush when he is trying to prevent those things from happening.
I think a better comparison, and one that Mark might endorse is “Beatles”(Rush) to “Monkees” (Beck) LOL
