It's not except that was twenty six years ago and our military learns from its mistakes. They just aren't allowed to apply those lessons since zero is in charge. Just like with the "Blackhawk Down" mess under Clinton.

I don't think our military learns from its mistakes at all.

The U.S. military is filled with hacks who put their careers ahead of the safety of their subordinates. It's just as true in 2009 as it was in 1983.

In both cases, just think of how many decisions were made up and down the entire chain of command that caused these tragic results.
