They (Giles and O’Keefe) have no responsibility to vouch for the credibility of that woman.
The video stands on its own, without comment from them, as do all the other recordings.
ACORN is full of anything-goes nutcases. Whether she actually murdered her husband or just goes around bragging that she did isn’t the issue. Same with her claimed history as a madame.
The real issue is ACORN’s credibility and ACORN’s obvious complicity in promoting illegal activity.
No. of course they don't.
But to think that the "rules of engagement" are "fair and balanced" is foolish.
As we engage the enemy, we also have to win the PR battle (like it or not).
That means (IMHO) that we have to stay one step ahead of them, and counter their response before they've made it.
So what I'm suggesting is that we think ahead and plan ahead.
Finding out if she is actually relating factual information is, in my opinion, important in shooting down a major 'comeback excuse' the ACORN's will use.
I'm not trying to diminish the story. Just planning ahead for the eventual response. As we all should in the future.
