ACORN organizer rips video (California ACORN)
San Bernadino Sun ^ | 9/15/2009 | Andrew Edwards

SAN BERNARDINO - The head organizer for California ACORN says a new video that appears to show a staffer at the organization's San Bernardino office is fake journalism.

The video, which was posted shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday on a Web site called Big Government.com, shows a female ACORN employee talking to a man who claims to be a pimp interested in establishing a brothel where underage immigrant prostitutes would turn tricks in order to raise money for political activity.

The woman, identified on the video as Tresa Kaelke, appears on posted footage to be interested in cooperating the plan. However, California ACORN head organizer Amy Schur said the video is a gross misrepresentation of what actually happened.

"In this video, there are two actors who come into our office and who were messing with us. And our employee was messing with them," Schur said.

She said that the complete and unedited video needs to be released to the public.

Schur said that in a moment not shown on the edited video, Kaelke asked the undercover "pimp" if he was joking and then proceeded to play along with the joke.

Furthermore, Schur said that Kaelke will sign an affidavit stating that she was not seriously entertaining the idea of cooperating with an apparent attempt to establish a house of prostitution.

"She (Kaelke) asked if they were joking and asked if they were reporters. They said they weren't reporters and they aren't. This is not legitimate news," Schur said.

Schur's statements follow comments from ACORN office supervisor Christina Spach, who said Kaelke was afraid of the "pimp" and "prostitute" who broached the prostitution ploy at ACORN's San Bernardino office.

The Big Government.com video identifies the "pimp" as James O'Keefe and the "prostitute" as Hannah Giles. O'Keefe and Giles could not be reached immediately for comment.

Most readers know where ACORN gets its money - the vast majority from taxes paid by American Citizens... does it really have to be explained? You know I didn’t mean any differently....

AND — if you read further down the thread - you’ll see that I eagerly agreed with another poster (prior to your post) that indeed it is American taxpayer tax money and accepted the clarification quite gladly.

Have a good day - and please take time to call a member of Congress and explain the same thing... I am already convinced that the liberal - leftist Dems and Marxist Obama and his buddies at ACORN are bad for America - maybe your Congressional Rep. is not. Your time spent correcting members of Congress is better spent.

I watched the video and didn’t see or hear any significant time spent wondering whether or not she was a prostitute and /or whether she actually killed her husband .... and rightfully so ...

The real point at hand is that ACORN employs people who are WHACKO enough to blurt out such statements to perfect strangers — while at work... The fact that she talked as she did - true or not is off the charts - totally unsuitable for any sort of business conduct.

You are a relative newbie here on FR.

The comment was not meant as an admonishment to you; rather a semi sarcastic rejoinder at large.

Your statement as to “Most Readers” is appropriate to the FR readership, but not, unfortunately, to the rest of our fellow citizens.

Most Americans, IMHO, have no idea how ACORN is funded; nor do they care, as almost 50% of working Americans now receive a net Income Tax rebate, thanks to the EITC.

They (Giles and O’Keefe) have no responsibility to vouch for the credibility of that woman.

No. of course they don't.

But to think that the "rules of engagement" are "fair and balanced" is foolish.

As we engage the enemy, we also have to win the PR battle (like it or not).

That means (IMHO) that we have to stay one step ahead of them, and counter their response before they've made it.

So what I'm suggesting is that we think ahead and plan ahead.

Finding out if she is actually relating factual information is, in my opinion, important in shooting down a major 'comeback excuse' the ACORN's will use.

I'm not trying to diminish the story. Just planning ahead for the eventual response. As we all should in the future.

“You are a relative newbie here on FR.”

And what does that have to do with anything?

I am an American citizen - conservative in political view - devoted and loyal to my country, a Combat Veteran in that little Vietnam thing and much more — My credentials as a devoted American citizen are quite valid. I’ve paid my dues in the support of the U.S.A. Time spent as a member of FR trumps that... you say?

Freepers who use this worn our phrase need to re-evaluate ... WE are all in this together in the fight against the Obama, Reid/Pelosi oppressive government ‘ya know.

I attended the 9/12 March on DC - did you? Just got back last night - drove 3000 miles round trip to help defend my country, culture and freedom ... I believe I understand the issues.

“The comment was not meant as an admonishment to you”. So - make that clear if you please in your original remarks...

Most FR readers know where ACORN gets most of its money. Since this is posted on FR, I was not concerned about what the general public might or might not think or understand... After all FR members new or old are a ‘cut above’
