By Noel Sheppard | September 12, 2009 - 15:26 In a shocking twist to Thursday's ACORN sting video story, the Baltimore city state's attorney is considering charging the two people that exposed the activity.
As NewsBusters has been reporting, Hannah Giles and James O'Keefe caught on video several ACORN representatives giving them advice as to how to get a loan to purchase a house to be used as a brothel whose employees would be under-aged illegal immigrants.
Despite the long list of laws possibly broken by these ACORN representatives, the Baltimore city state's attorneys office is looking into whether or not Giles and O'Keefe violated statutes concerning taping people without their consent....

As usual, the headline promises a lot but the article fails to deliver. The state AG’s office doesn’t even mention prosecuting the sting people. They merely state that audiotaping conversations without consent is against Maryland law. They also state that they have no evidence in custody; the only thing they’ve seen is an abbreviated videoclip on YouTube.
Those people filmed were representing ACORN, a tax-funded enterprise, not private individuals. We should be able expose misuse of our tax dollars without fear of going to jail!
This is the best and most appalling summation of the situation. So where do I send my check to the O’Keefe and Giles Legal Defense Fund?

I hope they try it. You think they saw something today, just wait.
Corrupt systems hate exposure.

WE LOVE ‘DISCOVERY’!!
ROTFLOL!!
Interesting fact.
This is the same State Attorney’s office that prosecuted Linda Tripp.
In her public statement turning a blind eye to ACORNs crimes, she complains that the video may possibly have been obtained in violation of Maryland Law . . . Article §10-402, which requires two party consent. If it is determined that the audio portion now being heard on YouTube was illegally obtained, it is also illegal under Maryland Law to willfully use or willfully disclose the content of said audio. The penalty for the unlawful interception, disclosure or use of it is a felony punishable up to 5 years.
Do we know where Hannah and James live? Are they from Maryland? I hope not, and I hope they’re home safe.
tyrannies always go after the whistleblowers and dissidents.

My take on this...
Exactly. This is an act of a tyranny!
Which is perfect for my blog Tyrannt Sentinel:

It wouldn't be a bit surprising if Maryland looked for an excuse to legally harass these people. Meanwhile....in the city of Baltimore a vicious crime spree is raging and Dems do nothing about it.
Remember the impeachment tapes? Maryland prosecuted Linda Tripp but it eventually got thrown out because the evidence (tapes) was protected by federal immunity. That was in the Ellicott City Court house in Maryland. She lived in MD and taped Monica who lived in DC which had no law on taping over the phone(this MD law is used solely to protect democrats here)
Maryland law technically gives an out for those recording crimes. So going after Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe by liberal Baltimore City would look real good on FNC given all Obama’s other growing problems. Imagine Megn Kelly reporting on that story, as she has been on ACORNs case since last summer. We will see.
It is not 2008 and Democrats are under fire from all directions now. Make my day.
Guess the media will cover it now.
I can’t even think of Baltimore without picturing the goings on depicted on the TV show! The Wire.
I hope your right and the AG doesn’t have a leg to stand on. I hated what they did to Linda Tripp. It was disgusting.
Got me, but I know I support the hidden camera law. And have never supported any kind of entrapment since the FBI paid the man to saw off the shotgun barrel and then later killed his wife trying to arrest him.
If the State tries to go after these young patriots the prosecutors might find several hundred thousand citizens marching to their office in Baltimore.
