So article II section 1 of the Constitution of the United States is not the law?
Silly me, I thought it was part of the highest law of the land. Judges in every state, not just federal judges, are supposed to be bound by it. All legislators, state and federal, all executive and judical officers, state and fedeeral, are required to swear an oath to support it. At the federal level they are required to not only support it, but to defend it. That includes military officers, whose "employement" never really ends, unless they resign their commissions. (It also includes enlisted members, but the requirement to support is in their case one of statute law, not the Constitution).
Fair enough. What procedure does the Constitution lay out for proving qualifications? The president has to be a natural born citizen. Obama says he is. What does the Constitution say to do next?
