I really feel we need to set aside a thread to THANK Joe Wilson!!
Joe singlehandedly spoke up AGAINT these despicable LIES of President Obama last night!
Whether or not you feel it was the appropriate place for him to speak out or not, he DID say what most of us were thinking while listening to the President spew out bold faced LIES.
Joe Wilson's website has been down since last night! Let's use FreeRepublic right now to say THANKS!!
THANK YOU JOE WILSON!!!!! I have donated $$ towards your re-election!!
Polly
THANKS JOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I gave money immediately when I found out, and after I heard he apologized to...Rahm Emanuel, and...the President couldn’t take his call, and...”We all make mistakes...”
I wish he hadn’t said anything. If he stuck to his demeanor, the facts and the necessity of speaking out, I would be applauding him.
He was right. He was correct. And I don’t give a damn if that forum was the right or the wrong place to speak out. Our country is going down the tubes and those tubes are being greased by Obama and the Democrats.
This is no time to be civil. They are intent on ramming this through and getting the bureaucracy entrenched before people realize what has happened. They are in the process of dismantling, disabling and otherwise destroying our economy, health care and ultimately, our private lives. I have no intention of being civil about it, if push comes to shove.
Damn the civility. I don’t want to be civil to these people only to wake up someday with my name on a list and they are the ones who make decisions on the listees. Our republic is at stake, and I don’t feel that I am being melodramatic.
He should have STUCK by what he said in a forceful and unapologetic way.
I am disappointed and angry as well, but since I cannot assuage the disappointment and the anger doesn’t do me any functional good, I would just as soon he kept his emotion to himself.
I understand others feel very differently about this. I don’t say you are right or wrong and I won’t condemn you for feeling that way. I simply cannot feel that way.
I finally got a copy of “Rules for Radicals” last month, and read it. I felt that it was not only important to read from a logical perspective (so I could better understand the underpinnings of the arguments I have heard) but also to understand the actions and intentions of the current administration and the liberal sections of the House and Senate. I had been trying to figure out a way to obtain a copy of Alinsky’s book, because it is the bible followed by Obama and his associates. I have been trying to get it without paying for it, and the copies at the library were backordered for months. To my surprise, one came in.
Reading it tells volumes about the people who profess to following it as a bible, especially the ones pushing this health care bill, energy bill and so on. It explains a lot. And none of it is good. It is one of the most twisted works I have ever read. Given that Alinsky wrote a dedication to Lucifer which I could read on the first page, I shouldnt be surprised. The dedication was taken out of later editions so as not to offend the clergy he was attempting to recruit, but the version I read still carries it.
From what I can see, reading this book enables one to understand what makes Obama (and his followers) tick.
The reason I bring this up is because “Rules for Radicals” is a primer in incivility. And I don’t believe (as some, including some on Free Republic believe) that conservatives should adopt their tactics and use those tactics against the Left. I could not countenance that. That would twist conservatism into a deformed mirror reflection of Liberalism.
So I DO view what Joe Wilson did was right, should have been done, and needs to be done more. We should not happily participate in the destruction of our country.
But WE MUST DO IT WITH CONVICTION. Even tone-deaf liberal, socialist marxists like Obama and his associates both in his party and the media can spot a weak patsy, and will use this apology for all it is worth.
Thanks Joe!! I like a man with guts.
I have a new hero, Joe Wilson! Thank you Joe for shouting what I have been shouting at 0 for months.
Way To Go Joe!!
Congressman Wilson:
Greetings from Tennessee...
We applaud your courage or disgust or nausea or what ever that induced you to loudly proclaim the truth. Having certainly been threatened, we thank you and your family for enduring and persevering.
I’m reminded of the fable of the Emperor’s new clothes. You were the only one watching the parade that spoke the obvious...... The President is a liar.
You have done our nation a great service and we are very thankful.
At last! A Congressman with a set of fortitudes! Joe Wilson and Michelle Bachman and the other well equipped Representatives should form their own caucus. The Truth Squad that tells it like it is-—to heck with decorum!
THANK YOU FOR CALLING A SPADE A SPADE JOE.
Not easy to stand up with McCain telling everyone to go along and shut up. Good job at getting off McCain’s leash. We hope to help him out the door next election.
If it turns out Obama is in office illegally as it is being heard in court next month, take some leadership because McCain will have been involved in treason. His followers who helped him destroy the constitution are going down with him.
God bless you Joe.........don’t back down or apologize!
I’ve sent him an email applauding him. Way to go, Joe!!!!
JOE you are my HERO!!! Thanks JOE!
Truth needs to be told.
Dear Joe Wilson:
I was sitting in my living room saying the same thing! Thank you for your honest and correct appraisal of Obama. I am sorry you had to apologize.
Thank you Joe!!!
Thank you sir and please don’t apologize for doing what was right!
Did I just hear that there’s a regulation against people in congress calling the president (I guess they mean obama) a liar? These people must be joking.
Thank you Joe for daring to speak the truth. Money is on the way.....
Thank-you Joe! It is always good to speak truth to power and that is exactly what you did. :)
