Even more interesting. I did a little checking. NEA jobs are civil service, and he was the “director of communications.” How did he go from pr flack on the West Coast, peddling posters of BO, to downtown DC in such a short time, and end up with a GS 15 or so job at the NEA?

I bet it’s higher then GS-15, probably in the Executive Service level. So much for time-in-grade that the rest of us abide by.
