This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the Presidents remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the Presidents statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility.

A voice of reason. His apology for civility after the fact is appropriate. I challenge FReepers who disagree to find the last time a Representative made such a move during a nationally televised address to Congress.
The list, ping
The whole Republican party should have stood up half way thru this liar’s speech and called him a liar and walked out.
I personally like the way the prime minister has to defend himself in the British parliment. They have serious debate, and Obama wouldn’t last ten minutes in that environment.
“This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President’s remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill,” Wilson said. “While I disagree with the president’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the president for this lack of civility.”
I believe the coverage of illegal immigrants has just been made issue number one.
Great screen cap. The money shot.
THANKS, JOE!
I agree.
I think it was smart to apologize here since it was an inappropriate outburst for that forum.
THAT BEING SAID...
I’m glad he said it. He was right...it is a lie. I tweeted him and thanked him for speaking for the rest of us who were yelling the same thing at our TVs.
You know what this is like?
It’s like when an attorney asks a leading question to a witness or adds commentary that he knows will be objected to...but simultaneously knows that people can’t UNHEAR something once it’s been said, even if a judge tells them to disregard the comment.
Likewise... we’ve heard this now. And like Palin’s “death panel” comment, we can’t unhear it.
And Americans now have a reason to look into the possibility that illegals would in fact be covered.
Consider for a moment that a GOP amendment that would ban illegals was struck down on party lines. If illegals were not to be covered, then why vote it down?
another ball-less pubie.
It's "pubbie," friend. You typed too fast. Thanks for the laugh!
Joe ... please don’t apologize ... especially when you are ABSOLUTELY right
Fallout from this is not certain. I think he was right to apologize. But it could be the kind of thing that people get turned off by and rally around the President.
Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue. - Barry Goldwater
Screw'em!
Pelosi is going to give you hell, and your apology is just going to piss off any support you had.
Gawd....Republicans are so stupid! So damn stupid.
What the hell is your comment? Is it that we need to turn the tables on these a’holes and apply the Alinsky Rules on them? Then yes, your comment should be heard immediately.
Oh no! So much for courage!
Wilson did the smart thing and apologized. And it wasn’t one of those cowardly, “If I offended anyone” numbers. As for Obama, after saying it was time to stop bickering, he proceeded to call Sarah Palin a liar- and got a standing ovation from the Democrats. But he doesn’t have the class or the dignity to apologize.
I agree with you 100%.
Yep, the president was on a lying roll and these functions are designed to allow him to lie, unfettered, to the American people.
he should not have apologized
Let me get this straight—Obama can call Republican politicians and anyone who disagrees with him a liar and get a standing ovation.
But the person who bravely and rightly returns fire by calling out this Fraud-in-Sheeps’ Clothing is vilified.
The statist media is dutifully ignoring the glaring hypocrisy of their feigned indignation.
I stand with Representative Wilson!!
once again in that article, bring up the color of obama’s skin as the reason for the “rancor”.
