President Barack Obama’s address to Congress this evening was moving along fairly smoothly until he pledged that there was nothing in the legislation that would provide health care to the millions of illegal immigrants residing in the nation.
A cry of “You lie!” was audible from the Republican side of the aisle. The Associated Press reports that the heckler was South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson.
“It’s not true,” the president responded to the outburst, while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, seated behind the president, offered her mother-of-five glare towards the Republican side of the chamber. First Lady Michelle Obama was seen shaking her head from side to side.
While lawmakers may have become accustomed to that kind of language during the contentious town hall meetings in August, Wilson’s outburst was uncommon for a joint session of Congress, where decorum usually reigns.
A spokesman for Wilson did not immediately return a request for comment.

Sounds kinda like the way public schools are penalized for lack of attendance and rewarded (monetarily, with tax-payer’s money) for good attendance. Big Brother knows all and controls all.

What difference do you think it would have made to the Obamabots if Wilson had held a press conference after the speech instead of uttering two words during Obamasiah’s speech? Exactly zero (interesting how that matches Obama’s personality) It does not matter to these loons what members of the GOP do or say in response to Obama’s agenda to move the country to socialism. That’s been proven time and time again. Conservatives are villianized - including conservative Democrats - regardless of anything we say or do. Wilson lost nothing IMHO, and, after Obamasiah’s plans go up in flame, I believe Wilson’s words will carry the day.

And it’s high time that decent people have begun speaking out.
Hey if I’m wrong, I admit it immediately. But if I stood there listening to that sales pitch to bankrupt the country and a lie was spoken, that’s important enough that LIE should be said all caps.
He’s been hinting about “big stuff coming” and I hope we
find out soon what it is.

I'm disgusted to say this, the GOP has looked bad since at least last June for not shouting out against this Socialist Obamanation at every oportunity!
Any respectful candidate should have refused to appear at the same venue with this evil spawn of envy and subversion.
Those like Joe the Plumber and Joe Wilson have to speak from the common gallery at inopportune moments just to have the truth heard.
Sadly, Wilson forgot about Bush being booed by rats when he addressed joint sessions and has now apologized for his “incivility.”

The “ultimately” will be sooner rather than later: “immigration reform” legislation is EMINENT as soon as the “health care reform” measure becomes law.
Most illegals are likely to qualify for citizenship under Obama’s “immigration reform” and will immediately receive the same medical care as longtime citizens.
