Obama Twisting in the Wind after Recess

I'm no political scientist (well, I'm not the kind that gets paid to "do" such science at some university) but I'm fairly certain this last Labor Day holiday weekend -- where he could stand in front of adoring labor unions and bask in their adulation all day -- was one that Barack Obama wished could have gone on for, say, 2 or 3 years.

I say this because it's my guess the man in the Oval Office most likely isn't looking forward to the return of the silly season (otherwise known as Congress going back into session) and all that such a return portends for the fall.

For one thing, there doesn't seem to be an end to the arguing over what's come to be popularly known as "ObamaCare," a series of so-called "health reform" bills circulating in the Congress that promise to be anything BUT reform, at least in the classic sense…

In town hall meetings all across the country, the good men and women of the legislative branch of our government (mostly referred to as "Congress" or "the Keystone Cops," depending on one's views on that branch's usefulness to society) got a taste of what happens, on occasion, when the vast middle in this country finally becomes irritated by continuing and unending government malfeasance.

President Obama being the man he is -- and believing in the sheer power of his voice to win people over to his point of view, no matter how out of the mainstream it may be -- took to the campaign trail...no, that's not right. He's already President, so the campaign rallies he held in various parts of the country were most likely for some other reason; like maybe convincing us to give him the keys to our medicine cabinets, I think.

Yeah...I thought that, too, and let those guys know. But I think they’re right, when they came back and said you can’t attach racial implication to everything about Barack Obama. Otherwise, you pretty much wouldn’t be able to speak English anymore.
