He was in charge as a special advisor to the President for Environmental Quality....right in the middle of President Obama's declining popularity as being hit on his health care reform policies, comes this resignation. As for the Obama Administration, this development has all the trappings of being a new smack in the face. ....Jones had signed on to a petition questioning the culpability of previous President Bush in the September 11th terrorist attacks...also recently discovered were Jones' nasty comments toward Republicans. With criticism from the Republicans and others, Jones was forced into an apology."

Further, Google Japan/News will show that the Van Jones story is just starting to break hard and fast. Japanese media are slowly being forced into the position, many of them, to finally report for the first time in Japan to their readership, that Obama is actually losing considerable popularity, something that would surprise most Japanese readers as they have been force-fed Obama for the last six months, as if he were some kind of Messiah. It is just a few stories for now, but keep a watch on this link, they will no doubt grow. I am waiting for the conservative Sankei Shimbun; they would really have a field day over this. They have been the most aggressive in exposing Obama in the Japanese press.

I absolutely love the “smack in the face” headline. It’s just the way I feel, too! heh

That sentence hit me that this was not just some two-bit racist commie that resigned - but is something bigger. I then for some reason thought of how I would have felt if it were some Bush appointee that was forced out. (Rumsfield?) And how the media portrayed it as a Bush failure, etc. and how serious I thought it was.
I sincerely hope that this IS just the tip of the iceberg of Obama’s future failures.
