Former Rep. Jim Traficant (D-Ohio) waxed nostalgic about turkey hunting trips in his first post-prison release, lamenting that as a convicted felon, he can't carry a gun.
Traficant called into the NewsRadio 570 WKBN "Outdoor Icon" show on Saturday morning, where he reminiscent about his turkey hunting trips with the host, Denny Malloy.

I figure he’d want to bag a fresh squirrel
felons can legally own muzzle loaders...but their is some question if they can posses gunpowder.
“felons can legally own muzzle loaders...but their is some question if they can posses gunpowder.”
I wonder if they can make their own legally, I used to buy the components from the local drug store and make it muself when I was in grammer school.
I think he needs to bag a raccoon. He really needs a new rug—even more than Joe “Plugs” Biden needs one.
I was thinking a beaver.
flowers of sulfer, potassium nitrate and ground up daddys kingsford charcoal....
I did the same thing...the St George family who owned the drug store down the block, looked at me kind of weird when I asked to buy the components....mostly it just burned as I probably didn’t make it right...
I bought it every couple of weeks, I made firecrackers and rockets out of it!
I used to get 50 cll. shells from the surplus store, fill them with powder, use a straw filled with powder, set them on a ram[ and fire them.
One firecracker I made was a little large, it broke windows in 3 neighbors houses, it was 2 feet tall and 6 inches in diameter.
If his sentence is completed he should be armed imo.
If he is not trustworthy enough to carry a weapon he shouldn’t be free.
We have a winner!
bttt
Beat me too it! LOL..a classic!
you cant do that anymore....
I use to use Goex or Elephant powder and do the same thing.
now it is considered terrorist activity....unless you have some sort of business to be doing it.
Now I save the BP for an original(1850s) pennsylvania long rifle, various Hawkin rifles and cap and ball pistols.
I quit that kind of carrying on and went to building hot rods when I was 8.
Gun powder is not an explosive - meaning that the burn rate is less than the speed of sound. If your mixture burned, it probably qualified as gunpowder. The only reason black powder works in a gun is that the volume of gas produced increases in pressure because it is contained / directed.
Ain’t nothing wrong with shooting a wild turkey with a bow. It takes a *REAL* woodsman to get close enough, then pull off the shot. Go get ‘em, Congressman!!!
