This is an apology?
As we editorialized yesterday, Van Jones, the Obama green-jobs guru, has a lot of explaining to do about why he signed an insane 9/11 conspiracy theory petition back in 2004.
The 911Truth.org petition, bursting with lies and distortions, alleged the Bush administration "may have deliberately" allowed the attacks on our nation. Jones' was among 100 prominent names beneath the words, helping to give them heft and credibility.
Outrageous, especially since Jones spearheads President Obama's push to create renewable-energy jobs - and in that capacity has been readying a big campaign to "Green the Block" on none other than Sept. 11, now the National Day of Service.
Here's the mea-kinda-culpa Jones put out yesterday: "If I have offended anyone with statements I made in the past, I apologize. As for the petition that was circulated today, I do not agree with this statement and it certainly does not reflect my views now or ever."
Wait: Did he sign it or not? If he doesn't agree with the views and did sign it, what could possibly have possessed him?
It was troubling enough that the White House was prepared to give an environmental volunteering effort a massive megaphone on Sept. 11, which should be reserved for a solemn remembrance of lives taken by terrorist thugs. It was more troubling when it turned out Jones gave credence to 9/11 lies.
And it is still more troubling that the man can now only muster a half-hearted, nondenial denial.
We're Jonesing for a real reckoning. If it doesn't come from the green-jobs guru, it'll have to come from his boss.

How disgraceful that these haters of America should desecrate Sept. 11 with their socialist “cap and tax” stunts! Every American should fly the flag on that day, which is hallowed with the blood of innocent victims of Islam. Every patriot should loudly protest this attempt to subvert our remembrance of the tremendous price we paid for Clinton’s dereliction of duty on that sad day.
Maybe 0bama can have Van Jones preside over his 9/11 “National Day of Service” parade.
There is no doubt in my mind the way Van Jones thinks is exactly the way Obama thinks. We know nothing about Obama’s past except what he has written in his books. All his records are sealed or unavailable. With the help of the media and the Democratic Party the American public was been hoodwinked into believing this guy was a moderate. Anybody that had looked at the people he associated would know he was a hard leftie. I will give Sean Hannity credit for trying to point this fact out long before the election. The media did no investigation into this guy. They just looked the other way because they thought it would be great to have a black guy as president. Now we are stuck with this guy. I now understand why the Clinton’s were so frustrated during the election. If they told the truth about the guy the base of the party would have turned on them and called them racists. I thought I would never say it but Hillary would have been far superior this guy. God help us.

A far-left president, elected as a 'centrist' with positively loony left-wing people in his administration is finally being seen for the America-hater he really is - and always has been. This is refreshing and helps restore my faith in politics, which seemed to be bringing the U.S. to ruin as clever leftist manipulators and their money swayed the mostly apathetic public into a socialist 'utopia' (hell). I think Obama may keep Van Jones on for a few more weeks. . . Obama has issues about being an authentic black man, and he frequently seeks out the company of radicals.
To Obama, this is a battle of wills between him and Fox News, which he hates. Though irrational and damaging to his approval ratings, Obama may want to keep Jones on board to prove that “blacker than black”.
Never underestimate the power of her and Mitt's money, remember how Mitt spent 150 million dollars on an ad campaign to market himself as a no longer liberal, republican.
Meg is a billionaire that has every intention of buying the Governor's office regardless of facts, by the way, Romney registered republican in 1993, Meg Whitman registered republican in 2007.
In the end the obamabots will all be the losers and their careers will go down with their messaih.
