I apologize for the vanity, but was concerned over the several interruptions that occurred this morning on F&F. Tom Ridge was being interviewed on the controversy behind raising the "threat level" in 2004...it being suggested that this was done to up Bush's points. Right when it got to that area of the discussion, a Geico commercial cut it right off. As soon as the commercial was finished, it went back to the set, where the interview was still going...obviously, the interruption was not known by the anchor giving the interview - because not 10 seconds later, another commercial interrupted the interview & again went back to the F&F set & they were still talking. Then it happened a third time!
Now we all know when a commercial break is expected...the interview is paused, & resumed after commercial break. Now, forgive me FReepers if I appear paranoid, but these anchors had no idea that commercials were interrupting them. And as far as I know, 2 of the commercials were the ones included in the Glenn Beck boycott.
I know that the FNC stands strong against tyranny, or do they? I believe they do...so, now I'm wondering if my comcast cable company did this intentionally, or if I am reading too much into it. Needless to say, everything important that needed to be heard by Tom Ridge's comments, were not heard....
Just wondering....
Over the years I’ve noticed that on weekends and especially on holiday weekends there appears to be more ‘’glitches’’ in programing than during the week. I think there are recent hires getting their feet wet. Same thing happens on radio when for no apparent reason dead air is present and when the programing comes back the talking heads were not aware that they were talking to a void( something like when MSNBC broadcasts and nobody is out there to listen)
most likely it was a issue generating from FOX broadcasting itself if multiple locales experinced the same issue... someone flip to comercial feed to early...realised it corrected it... then went to commerical anyway.. sounds like a control room screw up... doubt it is anything nefarious.
Even with two hearing aids, Tom Ridge is still politically deaf.
At Homeland Security(I hate that name—why isn’t it National Security? A “homeland” implies colonies somewhere else) we have had three losers in leadership:
Tom “What?” Ridge
Michael “What Border?” Skeletor Chertoff
Janet “Every Right winger is a Terrorist” Napolitano.
God help us!
What was Ridge’s explanation of the controversy and did you get to see it in the interview?
Thank you for the heads up with that in depth information! I was sitting here this morning with conspiracy theories running through my head like you wouldn’t believe:
1) Who can retask a satellite?
2) If FNC won’t cave, who can infiltrate the company?
3) Are these commercial showings under control nationally, or locally?
...etc.
Thanks!
What was Ridges explanation of the controversy and did you get to see it in the interview?

No, it was over by the time all the commercial interruptions stopped. They were wrapping it up, & I never heard his explanation!
LOL!
Well stated!
Well, I guess I will give comcast a reprieve then...I was going to call & give them holy hell this morning.
Looks “fishy”, send it to “zero’s” snitch site.
Just before the ads took over the interview, I did hear him say that he wished people would read his comments in context, rather than the blurb on the book or what other people said that he wrote. I don’t want to buy his book, so thanks to the ads, I don’t know what he actually wrote in context, and if reading it in context changes the meaning significantly. He did look uncomfortable, though, I thought.
Tom Ridge planned it that way. As he was just about to say, you have to read his book to get the complete answer.
I have been in those situations before and sometimes there is so much going on and so much requiring your immediate attention to that you sometimes miss things like that. Working in a network BOC is one of the most mentally demanding jobs you will ever find, there are very few who can do it and to even be considered for employment at that level you must have 10-15 years experience in doing that job in a major market. You have to be perfect and on time all the time. Errors are not tolerated and those who do make many errors or one great big one are fired fast. I watched a co worker get fired in the middle of a break in the Super Bowl a couple of years ago because he clipped off one half of a second off of a spot. The security guard was there to escort him out of the building before the two minute break ended.
My thoughts exactly!
LOL! ...at the comparison!
( something like when MSNBC broadcasts and nobody is out there to listen)

Well put! LOL!
You’re too good! LOL!

These were my thoughts as exactly - thats why I was so interested in hearing what he had to say. I want to see or hear what he wrote in context as well.
