White House Says Little About Embattled Jones
Washington Post ^ | Sep 5, 2009 | Garance Franke-Ruta and Anne E. Kornblut

White House officials offered tepid support Friday for Van Jones, the administration's embattled energy efficiency guru, who has issued two public apologies this week, one for signing a petition that questioned whether Bush administration officials "may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war."

Earlier, Jones said he was "clearly inappropriate" in using a crude term to describe Republicans in a speech he gave before joining the administration.

****SNIP ****

Senator Christopher S. Bond (R-Mo.) urged Congress to investigate Jones's "fitness" for the position, writing in an open letter, "Can the American people trust a senior White House official that is so cavalier in his association with such radical and repugnant sentiments?"

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Friday that Jones "continues to work for the administration" -- but he did not state that the adviser enjoys the full support of President Obama, instead referring all questions to the environmental council where he works.

***SNIP***

Jones often told the story of how he won over Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) during a February 2007 meeting in San Francisco. After other speakers used up all the available time for introductions, Jones recounted, he scrambled to get Pelosi's attention before she headed for the door. Jones promised her that, if she said just four words at the news conference after the meeting, she could ensure the Democrats retained their House majority for two decades.

"Well, what are the four words?" Pelosi asked, according to Jones.

"Clean-energy jobs bill," he replied.

Jones’ term for Republicans was more than ‘clearly inappropriate’ - it revealed just how ignorant, childish, bigoted and narrow his mindset is.

I question Kit Bond’s “fitness” for the position of US Seantor considering that he voted for the Sotomayor nomination to the Supreme Court.

Funny how the MSM loves to poke fun at “Birthers” but they have a real live bonehead “Truther” working for Osama and they don’t utter a remark.

C’mon Bond, instead of just questioning ‘this’ guy get your butt in gear, get your pals together, and get this ‘czar’ crap tossed NOW. I’m betting most of these non duly elected ‘czar’s’ histories are filled with commie crappola, (as A. Bunker would say), and other anti American feelings and wants.

What a BS article.

“Jones, a legendary figure in the environmental movement”

John Muir and David Brower are ‘legendary figures in the environmental movement’.

Van Jones - not so much.

“He was a civil rights activist in California before turning his focus to environmental and energy issues”

Gee, no details about his prior ‘work’ as a radical race-hustler and self described communist.

The WaPo has finally been forced to begin to talk about the Van Jones problem but is is still shilling and will have to be gragged kicking and screaming into doing a full and honest profile on this gasbag.

Jones’ term for Republicans was more than ‘clearly inappropriate’ - it revealed just how ignorant, childish, bigoted and narrow his mindset is.

It also revealed exactly how the Obama administration actually refers to Republicans behind closed doors.

Because they agree with everything he says...

Exactly. Obamalamadingdong's top adviser, the "other half of his brain", Valarie Jarret, is on tape saying that they recruited Van Jones because they had followed his "career" and, as such, they knew exactly what this creep was all about. There is no doubt in my mind that Jones was vetted, they knew the sorted details of his radicalism and they hired him anyway because they wanted him in the position. The Obamalamadingdong Administration wanted this guy bad, despite the fact that he has absolutely no track record in creating jobs, green or otherwise. If there were ever any doubt about where the Commies have gone, this guy proves the green movement is now their place of residence. Jones is far from being the only one in Obama's circle with this sort of ideology, either....
