"Notre Dame should not only support this new civil rights movement but lead it. It should honor all who dare to speak out for the dignity of all human beings - born or unborn, wanted or unwanted, humble or exalted - not prosecute them!" It seems that Jenkins would prefer to do Zero's bidding and spit on the pro-life movement.

I loathe Notre Dame and the liberal American Catholic Church is almost as bad. The Pope needs to smack down these abortionists. Does The Church own the university or the land it sits on?

I thought that Jenkins was sacked after this??
Seems like the folks might appeal to the county prosector; I wonder if that is an elected post?

You’re all not getting it. It’s the post-Christian era, and that forgiveness stuff is so passé.

Go to Rome, and have the Pope ask for Notre Dame’s leniency.

Free the South Bend 88!!!
Down with fascism!!!
Down with the Notre Dame nazis!!
Freedom now!!
I propose a "sit in" in Jenkins' office until freedom is granted and justice is done!!

If it were me, I wouldn’t beg for leniency. There’s more to be gained by being a martyr for the cause and making ND look worse than it already does (from a real RC perspective).
For many, tho, I understand that up to a year in the slammer and fines would have long term if not permanent damage to family and finances. It would be a financial burden to North Bend, too, and not particularly endear ND to the locals.
