A mysterious YouTube member named, conveniently, megwhitmanonvanjones, has uploaded a May 2009 San Francisco Chronicle video of 2010 GOP California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman, in which the former CEO of eBay and former adviser to Mitt Romney and John McCain gushes about suddenly controversial green jobs czar Van Jones.
"Theres a guy over in Oakland, I think his name is Van Jones. And he and I were on a cruise last summer in the Arctic, on climate change. And I got to know him very well. And a lot of the work hes doing to enfranchise broader communities Im a big fan of. Hes doing a marvelous job Im a huge fan of his. He is very bright, very articulate, very passionate. I think he is exactly right."
(VIDEO AT LINK)
The political problem here? Whitman is a wealthy Republican trying to win the GOP gubernatorial nomination from conservative candidates Steve Poizner and Tom Campbell, both with stronger ties to the partys base. And here she is, on video, proclaiming her friendship for the current Emmanuel Goldstein of the conservative movement.
Two strikes on Meg: A phony global warming cruise and praising Van Jones. Go back to e-Bay Meg we don’t need another Arnie. We need another Reagan.
"We think you can trust Obama and his Czars. They are good people."
They hired a communist, and they got a communist, they couldn't be more pleased!
Meg Whitman Blasts Van Jones
My husband and I met him and many others on a cruise sponsored by National Geographic and The Aspen Institute. He talked about supporting job growth in California, but of course I did not do a background check of his past over dinner. As these reports have surfaced, its clear that he holds views that I entirely reject; any suggestion otherwise is ridiculous. --Meg Whitman

Her opponent already has an ad

Another California Schwarzenegger Republican, apparently.
I wouldn't expect her to, and you can't hold someone responsible for making a kind remark about someone they barely met.
My point is her focus on global warming. She isn't a bad person for taking Jones at his word, she is a bad Republican (and a bit of a dim bulb) if she falls for "climate change" as an issue.
I have a certain fondness for the opiates. It’s related to chronic pain and IBD. But thank G-d, I have no addiction to them and can easily refuse a pill or a a shot. Even when in pain. If I need the clear head I’ll not take the pill even when in pain.
I mention that because the whole Death Care thing is so damn similar — it’s so easy to convince a person and it it is obvious that too many of thousands — even those of strong moral character — have been convinced to commit a sweetened form of suicide under the clouding yet euphoric influence of the morphines.
I know from my own direct experiences with such conmen and such drugs that the mental/emotional state conducive to accepting such deadly drugging is EXACTLY the same as the mental state that gives an intelligent person over to a charming con.
I am also able to spot a con quickly — and it’s not because I turn off to their charming pitches, in fact I open up to them — it’s just that G-d has gifted me the ability to switch immediately out of that mode to a much harder and judgmental mode. I’m like the snake that kills the charmer.
What, exactly, has he ever done that makes him so marvelous? I’ve read up on the guy and I can’t find what I would consider a single accomplishment to help anyone other than himself to some government money.
"A political party cannot be all things to all people.
It must represent certain fundamental beliefs
which must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."
-- President Ronald Reagan
"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldnt make any sense at all.""
-- President Ronald Reagan
LOL
That’s cool, but who is her opponent?
Well, she’s right. He is doing a marvelous job. It all turns on how you define “marvelous job”. And who benefits from it.
She championed him before she was informed to dig into his past.
And she still went on a global climate change cruise.
Up until now I thought Whitman was the "best" among a lousy crop; no longer.
Another politician who became skilled at "saying the right things," while embracing moonbat ideas. Climate change? Van Jones?
Time to start looking around...
Wow, Shocker! Another McCain RINO cheer-leading a self-declared Communist.
Was Meg fully aware of what we now know? I think someone should ask her what she thinks of him NOW. Thats all that matters here.
Meggie likes Van and Obozo’s diversity and green scheme, and Van and Obozo like Meggie’s money and...data base.
