Obama czar : U.S. was 'apartheid regime'

TEL AVIV – The U.S. was an "apartheid regime" that civil rights workers helped turn into a "struggling, fledgling democracy," according to President Obama's controversial environmental adviser, Van Jones.

In a video screened by WND, Jones also called for a new "theology of resistance" and "theology of liberation" aimed at transforming American society.

Jones was speaking at the July 2005 Conference on Spiritual Activism in Berkeley, Calif., organized by radical activist Michael Lerner, the founding editor of the far-left magazine Tikkun.

Stated Jones: "We forget sometimes that the people who poured out their blood on the ground in this country, to turn an apartheid regime into a struggling, fledgling democracy, the so-called civil rights workers, when they went to face the dogs, when they went to face the fire hoses, when they sat shivering in cold jail cells soaked in blood, when they faced lynch mobs, when they found their children shot down in the street, they didn't march at laundromats , they didn't march at high school gymnasiums.

They marched out of church houses ... that was a great moment for progressive leftists," he said.

At the conference, Jones, speaking on the theme of transforming American society, called for a "new myth, we need a new theology of resistance, we need a new theology of liberation rooted in another part of the book."

This goof needs to resign. He is destroying 50 years of race relations building in the USA. When this is over, it will be like 1936 in America again. Whites and blacks are getting very angry and this racism is intentional. The communists want us to square off... Jones said that in the '60s, any Black leader who spoke out against defending another Black leader would have been run out of town. A UC Berkeley student speaking for Refuse & Resist! asked, "What are they afraid will happen if this teach-in happens? Are they afraid the students will learn of the racism in the justice system? Are they afraid they will learn that the government is trying to kill the first political prisoner since the Rosenbergs?" And she told the students and teachers that they had shown a lot of courage in going ahead with plans for classroom discussions of Mumia, and that they should show even more courage in the future.

In the wake of the activities on January 14 and 15, the teachers are discussing ways to continue the fight for justice for Mumia. At one high school, students and teachers formed a Free Mumia club. At the same time, the teachers who devoted their classes to discussion of Mumia remain under the gun, and it is important that people stay vigilant and be prepared to defend those who put their necks on the line to let their students learn the truth about Mumia Abu-Jamal."

The street urchins of Naples, Italy are hell on wheels.....I was coming back from leave, walking thru the streets of Naples, toward the USS Forestall.
