President Obama's "green jobs" adviser could become a mounting liability for the Obama administration, as the latest revelation about Van Jones shows his belief that the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks may have been an inside job.
Jones joined the "9/11 truther" movement by signing a statement in 2004 calling for then-New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer and others to launch an investigation into evidence that suggests "people within the current administration may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war."
The statement asked a series of critical questions hinting at Bush administration involvement in the attacks and called for "deeper inquiry." It was also signed by former Rep. Cynthia McKinney and Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans.
The discovery comes after Jones had to apologize Wednesday night for "offensive words" he uttered in February when he called Republicans "assholes." He said the remarks "do not reflect the views of this administration" and its bipartisan aims.
But such statements just scratch the surface of Jones' past commentary.
He also has consistently leaned on racially charged language, pointing the finger at "white polluters and the white environmentalists" for "steering poison" to minority communities, as he makes the case for lifting up low-income and minority communities with better environmental policy.
A declared "communist" during the 1990s, Jones once associated with a group that looked to Mao Zedong as an inspiration.
Jones' exceptional past is reminiscent of associations noted during the presidential campaign, when then-Sen. Barack Obama doggedly fended off claims that he was tied to radicals and overzealous activists.

Exactly. Can you imagine if a Bush appointee had speculated that FDR knew about Pearl Harbor in advance and had done nothing to prevent it? The Democrats and the media (same thing) would have run him out of town on a rail after weeks and weeks of media controversy.
Trent Lott lost his position as Senate majority leader merely for praising Strom Thurmond a little too effusively. But this anti-American POS is given a total pass in the media for making a disgusting, outrageous, unconscienable slander like claiming the Bush administration carried out 911. We're truly living in Alice's Wonderland.
Don't count on it. Contrary to what has always been touted, I don't think Obama has a clue when it comes to doing what is politically expedient. He's a typical liberal dunderhead; a Nancy Peloski type.

Question: must these “czars” pass a security check? What kind of vetting are they subject to?
Suppose they go through the standard FBI background check, what then? Does the report just go to the powers-that-be in the White House? At what point, with what evidence, would they be disqualified?
In other words, suppose the FBI turned up all the dirt we’re not seeing on Van Jones, reported it to Obama’s people, and they just said OK and hired him anyway.
Is this plausible? Is there any automatic disqualification for high government jobs?
This guy will be disappeared and on a slow news day. He needs to spend more time with the members of his cell. I’ll bet on it.
The American people have a proud heritage and love of freedom. The current group of anti-American traitors will be tossed out of office. The anger is building and the tsunami is rolling. Zero, his Gestapo Administration, and RATs and RINOs in the US Congress will be thrown out in 2010 and 2012. They can start packing now.
