We do know kids who get hungry or sleepy. We also know that it’s the parent’s job to deal with it, not ours, and when we have to hear your kid complaining we want you to do something about it. That tends to be the source of aggravation, not really the kid being loud, but the parent that seems oblivious. If the parent is at least trying we can generally live with it, but way to many parents these days are just going about their stuff “what there’s something I’m supposed to be in charge of making 100 dB noises damaging the hearing of everyone else in the store?”

And it screws things up for the good parents. We’ve gotten so used to the oblivious parents now when we hear a noisy kid we expect nothing will be done.

I see. Good parents 2 year olds are never tired, hungry or thirsty. Got it
