Just wish to point out whether or not she survived for a while, Kennedy had no way of knowing, so his decision to go home and to tell his cousin to go home without calling the police, was criminal and immoral. One can only assume Kennedy was drunk and that’s why he wanted to go home and walk into police headquarters the next day and calmy announce there was a dead girl in his sunken car.

Facinating isn’t it that Teddy got himself out and to the surface safely.

I recall his tv speech after this, in which he claimed to have dived twice in attempts to rescue her. Yet he and his cousin then left with no attempt to get her help.

In fact, Teddy told his cousin to go back to the party and keep his mouth shut so as not to upset anyone, then Teddy claims he dove in the water and disappeared in the dark and went home. So we are to believe the cousin saw Senator Kennedy dive in and disappear into the water, and went back and told no one, even though at that point both Mary Jo and Teddy might have been dead for all he knew.

Sure, it all makes sense.

When he went into the police station, there was no dead girl in the car.
