Years ago, while Rose was still alive and I lived on Cape Cod, I knew one of the nurses who worked took care of her at the compound.

She said one day the subject of Maria Shriver came up, whereupon Rose raised her head off the pillow and said, "She's the only one of us who's ever had a job."

There was also the time when Joe Gargan, official family butt boy, gave the nurses hell when he found them making themselves cold cut sandwiches from the royal Kennedy refrigerator. Ghastly family.
