A person’s state of wealth has no influence over whether he/she can receive a saving Sacrament.

I agree, all have sinned. The church would benefit from a perception that they treat all fairly.

The church takes a moral high round on the question of abortion, then gives a pass to Roman Catholic legislators who publicly vote to undermine the position of the church.

Instead, the kennedys are made heroes. The church should have had a "Come to Jesus" meeting with the younger kennedy brother years ago, and then made their dispute public until kennedy repented.

Many Irish Catholics in Massachusetts would have benefited from a strong position by their church.

The only difference I can see is based on their wealth.

In researching the Chappaquiddick tragedy, I noted 3 things that seem rather sinister:
1) Ted Kennedy had a driver, yet took his keys to his car from the driver and went driving with Mary Jo Kopechne!

2) The day before the accident, he went for a swim in that same area where he went off the bridge...

3) No autopsy was ever performed on Mary Jo Kopechne!
