Troops challenging the legitimacy of President Barack Obama as commander-in-chief -- including at least one who is fighting deployment -- should take heed: Gunnery Sgt. Hartman wants to know your "major malfunction."

R. Lee Ermey, the Marine-turned-actor whose role as drill instructor Gunny Hartman in the late Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket" has all but placed the Vietnam veteran in the pantheon of Marine heroes alongside "Chesty" Puller, Smedley Butler and Dan Daly, isn't buying anyone's political objector status.

"I haven't heard about those guys," Ermey told Military.com during an Aug. 21 interview. "If I do run across them though, trust me, I'll square them away."

The BC issue is a manufactured crisis that allows people to feel all righteously indignant.

It isn't just the BC. Link to any documents that BHO has released. Don't include the Colb as Janice Okuba of Hawaii would not verify it as legitimate.

We had McCain's BC and medical records. Obama released ONE PAGE of his medical records. Why? What's he hiding?

This is EXACTLY the same as asking Kerry for his records.

Actually no. I think that most of the items on your list are things that have not been released by other presidents before they left office. How many other presidents have provided their grade school / high school records or their baptism certificates or the billing records of their law firms or their passport records or a list of all their campaign workers who were lobbyists or a special campaign donor analysis? Kennedy would not have become president if he had released accurate medical records.

Obviously Obama has gone to special lengths to cover his trail, such as destroying his Illinois Senate records, but I think it is historically inaccurate to say that "All other presidents have provided these types of personal documents."

Clearly it is in the interest of all political candidates to release as little information as possible unless it is something that definitely paints them in a very good light.

Well he may be wrong on this issue, but I know he does not like Obama. I don't believe Obama was born in the US, but good luck trying to prove it. Now that Obama is president what is going to stop him from printing up a fake long form birth certificate? This is the same government that prints up money out of thin air. What makes you think they would not do this?

We may be able to prove it as a bogus, but then Obama/cohorts in the media/press will scream that we are nuts and it will never get resolved. Like I said I am sure he is not a US citizen, but it will never be validated.

Look at how the media worships this guy. They would rather shut down then objective. I don't like it, and it ticks me off. I hate to say it, but this is one battle we cannot win. Like I said they will produce a fake document (just like the short form) and then say, “We have showed you the proof, blah, blah, blah”.

Problem is that what is available is so scant and so damning that it raises more questions than answers.

All we know is what he wants us to know. The SCM is actively resisting any efforts to discover his past and covering for him. If the media did their job we'd know at least as much about him as we do about Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber.

But we don't. That's why there is such curiousity about the BC and other records. If we saw the BC it would probably put the eligibility question to rest or expose him as an usurper.

That would be an almost impossible thing to do without detection. Simply putting a facsimile on the internet, the way the Certifaction of Live Birth was, wouldn't cut it now. It would have to be seen firsthand by independent experts and confirmed as authentic. If it was exposed that he released a fake long form that would be far from harmless to him politically and a very actionable federal crime.

I know there is a good chance that people would say its a fake, but Obama and his allies would just say we are nuts, racist, etc.... since Obama has displayed the long form B.C.

If the media/newspapers were objective, then we could do it. However, since they are a lap dog instead of a watch dog they are never going to let it happen. I agree it's an outrage, but you can't do anything if they are going to play stupid and just call us names. I also believe this is why Talk Radio will not touch it anymore. Although I bet deep down inside most people suspect that Obama was not born in Hawaii.

McCain had to produce both doctor reports and a BC during the election. We had records from other candidates. Also there was a big brouhaha when Clinton sealed his medical records. That was before Bush.

We also had info on Clinton being a Rhodes scholar etc.

And we know that Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School. But I don't recall seeing Clinton's transcripts from Georgetown or Yale Law School. And McCain never released his Annapolis transcript. In general it is much more common historically for candidates to not release information unless they are somehow forced to.

It's worse than that. CANDIDATES release records. Obama sealed everything that he could find.

We had Clinton's records as Governor of Arkansas. Obama sealed his Illinois records.

Now you can continue to pretend that others have hidden records to the extent that Obama has. But some of us have long memories and know better.

If he released it there would be scrutiny of it even in the SRM. It would have to be certified by the best document experts to satisfy the public at that point. The very fact that he finally released it would demand it. It would be an almost impossible thing to fake. That isn't something to worry about IMO.

Anyone who cares about their country would be very concerned that a POTUS had hidden every scrap of information of his life that he possibly could.

Well, therein lies the rub. The people find that unacceptable from a guy who holds the highest public office in the land. There is a belief amongst a growing portion of the population that thinks he may not meet the basic requirements of the office and may have achieved it through fraud and they want it cleared up.
