'Dem Congressman: Obama Willing To Be One-Term President Over Health Care'
TPM via NRO ^ | August 14th

Posted on 08/21/2009 4:55:53 PM PDT by Halfmanhalfamazing

From Talking Points Memo:

Rep. Leonard Boswell (D-IA) told a local town hall meeting that President Obama told him he would deal with health care — even if it cost Obama re-election. Said Boswell: "And he said, 'No, if it makes me a one-term president, I'm going to, we're going to take it on because the country is in need of us taking this on.' I respected that very much."

Good. Both should fail.

Sweet.

Boswell shouldn’t be making any plans to renew any leases or memberships in D.C. that run after his present term ends either.

The sad thing is, he probably won't be a one-term president, because the Republicans have no one to put up against him in 2012.

You gotta admit, he is incredibly committed to removing our freedoms.

Yep, and I wouldn't be surprised were the whole thing orchestrated to do just that. The Obamabots will be fawning all over because of his selfless dedication: the messiah's willing to martyr himself because he *cares* *so* *much*.

He only has one term because next time he will have to present his qualifying documents and be exposed. I would guess he and Michelle bow out of even running to have more “family time.”

Incredibly stupid of the Democrats to think that just because Zero is black, that he would get away with pushing all this stuff through. They wrongly counted on the racism card being their ticket to a Communist country.

Shoot, if he accomplishes all that he intends, he won't have to worry about the ‘one term’. He will become KING DICTATOR!

Like other Freeper said, he is political suicide bomber.

That is probably the most spot-on description I have ever seen.

Unfortunately for him, not all Dims would follow his lead.

And that, my FRiend, is the only thing that gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, the people DO still have some influence in this country.

No, that’s not a good trade. Fundamentally changing the relationship of the state to the individual amidst a slow-motion train wreck with our national finances would be worse.

I’d rather he get two terms than this evil, destructive, immoral, unsustainable theft of personal liberty and autonomy.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

“”I respected that very much.””

OH! Such an honorable man. Just shows you how stupid the demoncrats are that a sitting representative could make such a statement. By then he’ll manage to stay in power as he will have the country and US right where he wants US. OR so he’s hoping!!!! If no one destroys his playbook before then or all of his cohorts aren’t put in prison first! Such incest.....

“”Incredibly stupid of the Democrats to think that just because Zero is black, that he would get away with pushing all this stuff through. They wrongly counted on the racism card being their ticket to a Communist country.””

Precisely the reason he came on the political scene so fast!

Well, if Obama doesn’t release his original long form birth certificate, he may get impeached before the term is even up.

We need a majority and a president. If Obama is president in 2013, it doesn’t matter what Congress passes - he will veto it.

Veto proof GOP majorities in both houses are unlikely in any case.

So, he’s admitting that the majority of Americans don’t want this.
And will most likely punish him at the ballot box.
And if he’s punished, he’s going to have big coat tails and take a lot of Dems with him.
God Willing .
But, after all that- he doesn’t care.
This is beyond arrogance and hubris, it’s dictatorial and pathological.

Nah - he likes gadding about on those fancy helicopters and Air Force One too much (even for short commuter trips). Plus all the other pomp and frills - sumptuous White House dinners, Presidential motorcades, meetings with world leaders, constant media attention...

He’s full of you know what. He’ll get what he can and claim victory - tinker with it later.
