Israel and the Swedish Embassy responded furiously Wednesday to a Swedish newspaper article that suggested Israeli troops killed Palestinians and harvested their organs. The article published Monday in Aftonbladet, Sweden's largest circulation daily, implies a link between those charges and the recent arrest in the U.S. of an American Jew for illicit organ trafficking. Later the reporter told Israel Radio he did not know if the allegations were true
Headlined "Our sons are plundered for their organs," the story made news in Israel, where some commentators compared it to medieval libels that Jews killed Christian children for their blood. Daniel Seaman, who heads Israel's government press office, said the article played on "vile anti-Semitic themes."
The article was illustrated with a photograph of a dead Palestinian man with a line of surgical stitches running the length of his torso, apparently taken after an autopsy, as well as pictures of stone-throwing youths and Levy Izhak Rosenbaum, a New York resident arrested in an FBI sting last month and charged with plotting to buy a kidney from an Israeli and sell it to an American patient for $160,000.
The writer, Donald Bostrom, based the story on accounts from Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza whom he identified only by their first names. It quotes an Israeli military spokesman denying the charges and saying that Palestinians killed by Israeli forces are routinely subjected to autopsies.

The good news is that Swedes in general are quite upset about it.
I know, because I’m one of them and I get to hear what people in my country from all walks of life actually think about our admirable act of “tolerance” and humanitarianism.
I’ve spoken to successful businessmen, ordinary hard working (and justly well paid) factory of my nation, local politicians, well educated scholars as well as drug addicts dwelling in our concrete, Soviet-like high rise bunkers far from the idyllic, perfect, Swedish SAAB and Volvo paradises the vast Swedish middle class resides in.
Even our former, Social Democratic, PM Göran Persson has said that Sweden has received far to many refugees.
Many Swedish Muslims are moderate and so on, but that doesn’t mean the thousands of morons who are not don’t constitute a severe threat to our nation.
Sweden has around 400 000-500 000 Muslims. Out of these, something like 15-20% don’t wish to have anything to do with Islam, 50-60% or so function rather well in Swedish society and practice Islam as a religion (although many are rather secularized) not a political movement. The rest ought to be sent back, alternatively these guys should be sent in where they live;

In most cases, the people who work at our assembly lines deserve to drive their nice cars, have expensive hobbies and so on.
I don’t know how to view well paid American workers, like those employed by the automotive business, but most American members of this forum obviously tend to dislike them and their organizations.
Off topic or not, many of you seem very unpatriotic about American companies in the automotive industry and American made cars.

Although being Swedish myself, I'm not offended or anything. But IMO, we Westerners ought to discuss, internally, what actually went so terribly wrong some decades ago. Just like we, together, ought to debate our present situation.
Don't slander Sweden for the wrong reasons. USA needs Sweden and Sweden needs the US more than most Americans and Swedes, in general, would realize.
The cooperation in the WOT area and our collaboration in the development of superior arms (like the M982 Excalibur, the advanced Bofors/Raytheon 155 mm extended range guided artillery shell) are not the only reasons, but they are reasons enough.
But, by all means, don't hesitate to criticize what truly is wrong about my nation. Intelligent and moral Swedes are likely to agree.
Agreed, and your points are well taken, particuilarly about Standard Oil. But fpr is “Americanos” in Mencken’s phrase, the self-rigteousness of many Swedes toward us in matters of race it both usually unjustified and irritating. What’s it like with the Muslim immigrant population in Sweden at this time? How are the leaders of political parties there dedaling with it? Are muslim immigrants being absorbed or are they isolated? The Finns certainly put up a hell of a fight against Stalin.
